Staff from our two Early Childhood programs in New Haven’s Fair Haven neighborhood recently stepped away from the classroom and headed to Sleeping Giant State Park in Hamden for a day of team-building and fun. Through creative challenges, including building and launching rockets made from soda bottles, they strengthened relationships, sharpened problem-solving skills, and renewed the spirit of collaboration that helps our youngest learners thrive.
Because when we invest in our staff, we invest in the children and families we serve.

This Father's Day, we celebrate the dads and father figures who work every day to support, encourage, and care for their families. Through our family support, parenting, workforce development, and community programs, Catholic Charities is proud to help fathers build brighter futures for themselves and their children.

Happy early Father's Day from Catholic Charities!
At Paraiso Infantil in Hartford, we know strong families help build strong communities. We were delighted to host a Breakfast To Go for Dads party Thursday in our infant and toddler classrooms. These photos capture the love, pride, and connection that make families flourish.
Sunday, we celebrate all fathers and father figures for the important role they play in nurturing, encouraging, and supporting their children.

What a difference a morning of service can make.
Today, a team of volunteers from The Hartford came together to support families served by Catholic Charities in Hartford. Their efforts filled 400 bags with toiletries and other essential items that will be distributed through our Family Centers, helping ensure hundreds of families have access to everyday necessities.
The volunteers also rolled up their sleeves outside our Asylum Hill Family Center, trimming shrubs, pulling weeds, and sprucing up the grounds to create a welcoming space for all who visit.
We are incredibly grateful to The Hartford employees for their generosity and commitment to our mission. Their compassion and hard work will touch the lives of countless families throughout our community.
Thank you for helping us provide help and create hope.

A big thank you to our friends from AmeriCorps VISTA and Connecticut Foodshare for spending Wednesday afternoon serving alongside us at the food pantry at the Institute for the Hispanic Family in Hartford.
As part of an eight-week summer commitment to help fight food insecurity across Connecticut, college students Thomas, Zoe, and Lillian, accompanied by Beth Boehm, the VISTA Project Manager from Foodshare, rolled up their sleeves to support our mission. They helped organize pantry inventory and assisted visitors as they selected groceries to take home.
Their compassion and willingness to serve are making a real difference for families in our community. Thank you for helping us provide help and create hope!

Smiles, dancing, and plenty of unforgettable moments filled this year's Queen of Hearts Celebration!
The annual luncheon, hosted for the senior programs operated in Hartford by Catholic Charities Archdiocese of Hartford, gives older adults a chance to enjoy a special day of fun, friendship, and celebration. For many participants who may not have had the opportunity to attend a prom or quinceañera when they were younger, the event offers a chance to dress up, dance, and make cherished memories with friends.
This year's celebration also included a city proclamation presented by Hartford Mayor Arunan Arulampalam recognizing 40 years of service by the Hispanic Family Center and its impact on the community.
Held at the Hartford Marriott Downtown, the luncheon featured music, dancing, and the announcement of this year's Queen of Hearts, Luz Boria, along with her court.
Swipe through the photos to see some of the joy, elegance, and community spirit that made this year's celebration so special!

As the world comes together to celebrate the World Cup, Pope Leo XIV reminds us that soccer teaches lessons that extend far beyond the field. Success isn't about one person carrying the ball alone — it's about teamwork, supporting one another, and making sure everyone has the opportunity to participate.
At Catholic Charities, we see that same spirit every day. Whether it's helping families overcome challenges, supporting seniors, caring for children, or empowering individuals with disabilities, lasting change happens when communities come together and move forward as one team.
Thank you to our staff, volunteers, donors, and supporters for helping make sure no one has to face life's challenges alone. Together, we can accomplish so much more.
