Families are invited to the PK–12 School Choice Fair this Saturday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Connecticut River Academy, 9 Riverside Drive in East Hartford.
Explore free public school options — magnet schools, Open Choice programs, and technical high schools. Meet the schools, ask your questions, and find the fit that's right for your child.
Doors close at 12:30 p.m., so plan to arrive on the earlier side.

Since April 2025, Gina Gaipa has hand-knit around 450 hats, scarves and blankets for the families in our programs, donating bags of the beautiful items every few months. Christopher Healy went into cardiac arrest on the basketball court in July. While someone started CPR, someone else ran out into the hall to grab a defibrillator. On the third shock, he came back. "It works,” said Healy, the Executive Director of the Connecticut Catholic Conference. “I can tell you it works."
He’s alive because an AED was available and on Friday, the Connecticut-based company Defibtech made sure five more of the devices are available. In a ceremony at Hartford City Hall, they were donated to three nonprofits, including Catholic Charities.

Look what came in the mail!
Last month, we had the privilege of hosting some incredible Northwest Catholic High School freshmen at our Limitless Day Program in Newington and the Institute for the Hispanic Family in Hartford. It was part of the school’s Day of Service, when 85 ninth-graders went into the community and helped at eight different locations.
Not only did these students give their energy and enthusiasm to serve, but they also sat down afterward to send us this heartfelt thank-you card. It’s thoughtful moments like these that remind us how powerful strong partnerships can be.
Thank you, Northwest Catholic students and staff, for your generosity and kindness! 💙
