Imagine the pride a student feels when their hard work in the classroom puts a Friday night pizza dinner on the table for their family. Through the BAG (Behavior, Attendance, and Grades) program, one of the most successful initiatives created by our Community Schools team, students earn real rewards, like a pizza night, by meeting weekly goals.
As our Hartford scholars head back to school tomorrow, our teams at McDonough Middle School, Milner Middle School, and Parkville Community School are ready to help every student build confidence, reach their goals, and support their families.

Our Community Schools team hosted a Back-to-School event yesterday at Parkville Community School in Hartford to welcome students and families as we gear up for the first day of classes next Tuesday.
More than 150 students and their families joined us for a fun-filled day complete with fresh pizza, games, and engaging activities. A huge thank you to the talented team from Connecti- Cuts in West Hartford for coming out and giving free haircuts to help our scholars look and feel their best for day one.

The heart of Hartford’s small business community will be on full display this weekend at our Asylum Hill Family Center. A business expo Saturday from 10 am to 2 pm celebrates culture, resilience, and local talent, serving as the capstone showcase for the graduates of the Catholic Charities Entrepreneurship Program. Over several months, these emerging business owners work tirelessly crafting logos, refining marketing strategies, and building comprehensive business plans to turn their visions into reality.
Alongside celebrating these new graduates, the expo brings together 50 local vendors offering a wide variety of products, services, and essential community resources. It’s a great opportunity to gather with neighbors, support local creators, and invest directly back into our community.
