💔 LADY MADDIE NEEDS SOME ANGELS RIGHT NOW! 🐾🙏
We know everyone is stretched thin. Fall break expenses, property taxes, the holidays approaching, gas prices, groceries, and the never-ending cost of simply living. We understand, because we are feeling it too.
But Kentucky Kitty Cats has hit a roadblock, and we simply have no funds left to cover another medical emergency. We have been running on empty for some time, trying to keep up with record numbers of animals needing our help.
And now, sweet Lady Maddie desperately needs some angels to step up for her. ❤️
Lady Maddie’s story is one that breaks our hearts.
When she came to us, she was still trying to care for her older kittens while preparing to deliver yet another litter. It was obvious she was about to give birth. In fact, she began showing signs of labor almost immediately after arriving.
Within 48 hours, she delivered another healthy litter of 6 babies. But all that motherhood came at a tremendous cost to her own health.
Lady Maddie suffered through mastitis, and despite everything her poor body had endured, she remained an absolutely wonderful mother. She never stopped caring for her babies. She allowed us to do everything necessary to help her heal. She trusted us, and she kept fighting.
We truly thought we had gotten her through the worst of it.
Her babies are now 11 weeks old, and last week Lady Maddie and her kittens went for their spay and neuter surgeries. This was supposed to be the beginning of a much better life for this precious mama.
Instead, the following morning, Lady Maddie was crashing. 💔
She has been hospitalized since Saturday, fighting to survive. She showed some encouraging signs of improvement, but unfortunately, she has taken another downturn.
To complicate matters even further, her veterinarian is retiring today, and while we wish him the best, this means Lady Maddie must be transferred while she is still struggling.
Lady Maddie is now on her way to Rough River Veterinary Clinic in Hartford, Kentucky, where we are desperately hoping she can get the care she needs to pull through.
We have contacted emergency clinics and have been quoted $2,000–$4,000 for a blood transfusion. However, those clinics were also kind enough to explain that whatever happened following surgery may be something her body can recover from with supportive care. There is hope that her blood counts may be stabilizing and that continued hospitalization and treatment could help her recover at a much lower cost.
We simply won’t know until she has been evaluated again.
❤️ HERE IS WHERE WE NEED YOUR HELP!
We are not starting a Facebook fundraiser because we need access to these donations much more quickly than Facebook’s payout process allows.
In the past, supporters have been able to call payments directly into the veterinary clinic. We will share that information in the comments as soon as arrangements are confirmed.
As always, donations can also be made directly through our Kentucky Kitty Cats website.
Every donation matters right now. Whether it’s $5, $10, $25, or more, it all helps us give Lady Maddie the chance she deserves.
And if you cannot donate, please share her story. Somewhere out there may be the very person who can help us get her through this.
Lady Maddie never asked to be dumped outside, struggling to survive while raising one family after another. She never asked for her body to be pushed to its limits. She simply did what mothers do. She gave everything she had to her babies, even when she had so little left for herself.
She fought so hard to do her job as a mother. Now it’s our turn to do ours. ❤️
Please help us give Lady Maddie the opportunity to finally live a life where she never has to struggle through motherhood again.
🙏 Donate. Share. Pray. Be one of Lady Maddie’s angels.
