Carrie-Ann never knew stability before she came to My Sisters' Place. She grew up in the foster care system, where frequent moves were a part of life. So when she became pregnant with her daughter Liliana, and the home where she was staying didn't allow children, she moved again - this time, to live in her car.

Her life changed when, as she was in the hospital giving birth, she received the news that she got an apartment in My Sisters' Place's affordable and supportive housing. The fear of not knowing where she would live from day to day disappeared. She could work on herself, and create a brighter future for baby Liliana.

Liliana's mother Carrie-Ann was pregnant, living in her car, and scared of what the future held for them. Then everything changed.

She arrived at the hospital to deliver baby Liliana — and left with the news that a safe home was waiting for them both at My Sisters' Place. The stability of her own home has helped Liliana grow into the energetic, lively preschooler she is today.

That's the power of your support. Give to our Spring Appeal at the link below and help write the next family's story.

Celebrate the long weekend by seeing what the Youth Program has been up to! First, they celebrated with games, art activities, and a creative snack - Yoda Soda and chocolate lightsaber pretzels. Then they explored the world of anime by playing Pokemon-themed games, creating anime collages, and learning how to fold origami!

Your support helps the kids at My Sisters' Place explore new interests while having fun - thank YOU for all you do!

Liliana was two months old when her mom Carrie-Ann finally had a safe, stable place to call home at My Sisters’ Place. That stability changed everything: Carrie-Ann was able to enroll Liliana in Early Head Start with the help of our Youth Program. And when Early Head Start identified a developmental challenge, Liliana was able to receive supportive services. Today Liliana is three, happy, and thriving in a specialized preschool that meets her needs. 💛

Far too many babies in Connecticut aren't that lucky. 75% of homeless infants and toddlers miss out on early childhood programs that could transform their lives. Your donation to our Spring Appeal will give more little ones like Liliana the start they deserve. Give today at the link below:

Today is the last day of Connecticut's legislative session, and we are happy to say that our voices have been heard and our legislators have passed a budget that increases funding for nonprofits! There is still work to be done, however. Hear CEO Kara Capone discuss the benefits of continued investment in nonprofits from the 2026 CT Nonprofit Alliance Rally at the State Capitol.

Your voice is valuable all year long! Thank your legislators for their help this year and let them know why you support nonprofits like Mercy Housing and My Sisters' Place. Find your legislators at the link below: https://www.cga.ct.gov/webapps/cgafyl.asp
