A little bit of movie magic came to Connecticut Children’s! 🎬🍿✨
Our patients had a blast at an action-packed Toy Story 5 movie party thanks to our friends at Disney, Pixar, and Starlight Children's Foundation! 💙✨
There were two special screenings—one in the Family Resource Center and another on a Med-Surg floor for kids who couldn’t leave their unit.
Before the movie, kids made their own Toy Story-inspired toy boxes and LCD tablets before settling in to watch the newest adventure. Moments like these help make a hospital stay a little brighter—and they're made possible because of the generosity of our corporate partners. Thank you, Disney, Pixar & Starlight Children’s Foundation for helping create unforgettable experiences for the kids and families we serve. 💛

More than 120 children are diagnosed with cancer at Connecticut Children's each year—and hundreds more continue their treatment journey with us—spending more time in hospital rooms than classrooms or playgrounds.

That's why every second Friday in December, people across Connecticut, Massachusetts and New York take part in PJ Day.

Schools, businesses, first responders—ARE YOU READY TO COMMIT? Register as a PJ Day host and on PJ Day, participants donate $1 or more to wear their pajamas for the day and inspire hope for our patients. (First responders can participate by wearing a PJ Day pin while on duty.)

Since 2011, PJ Day for the Kids participants have raised more than $5 million to support the Center for Cancer & Blood Disorders at Connecticut Children's, helping provide lifesaving care, critical research and hope for children and families facing cancer.

Our Emergency Department (ED) sees nearly 60,000 kids each year in a space designed to accommodate about half that number.

We're the busiest Level 1 Pediatric Trauma Center between Boston and New York. What was once sufficient is now stretched beyond capacity, which is why this year's Gala Bid for Kids appeal will support the transformation Connecticut Children’s ED.

Every gift will help create safe, supportive spaces where children and families can receive the care they need. Today, our ED is under strain, with kids often waiting in spaces that were not designed to meet their needs during some of their most vulnerable moments.

Each year at the Connecticut Children's Foundation Gala, our Bid for Kids live appeal gives every guest the opportunity to make an impact by supporting a featured program or department at Connecticut Children's.

Last year, guests rallied around our Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU)—helping ensure our smallest and most vulnerable patients receive the specialized care they need. 👶💙

The impact? Connecticut Children’s was able to open the first of two new NICUs in the new Clinical Tower.
Take a look at the incredible moment 14 babies from the existing Medical Center and two babies from NICU East at Hartford Hospital were transferred into their new state-of-the-art private rooms on the Tower’s sixth floor. ✨

Last year, Team Connecticut Children's crossed the finish line at the Eversource Hartford Marathon to help kids like Chloe. 💚

Chloe was born with Gitelman syndrome, a rare condition that affects her kidneys’ ability to retain potassium and other important electrolytes. It can cause severe muscle weakness and dangerous heart arrhythmias, requiring lifelong monitoring and treatment.

But because of the support of Team Connecticut Children’s, Chloe can keep dancing, growing and mentoring young ballerinas. 🩰
