It is with a heavy heart that we are having to make this post. It has been a brutal 24 hours. Since that time, our CEO & founder Shea has had her name, along with the organization as a whole, dragged through the mud and vilified with hatred and lies on social media. I wish I could say this was the first time. But the truth is that she is picked apart for any post made outside of Misfit Mama's Sisterhood group (and sometimes within it). This has not only caused immense harm to Shea's family and health and our organization, but the businesses and professionals that we have partnered with. This has taken a huge hit on the event, not only in ticket sales, but in vendors and venues pulling out their support and services at the last minute. For these reasons, we will unfortunately have to cancel both events (Misfit & Mini Misfit) and will be providing a full refund for any tickets purchased. Ticket holders were already contacted earlier today, but we felt we owed it to our village to inform them of this as well. We are beyond grateful for those that showed their support, whether monetarily or through defending us against the continual attacks. We wish we could have ended Friday night with a bang, celebrating with our amazing allies at the funds we raised that could now make a huge difference in supporting our village. We know this must be extremely frustrating. We can only imagine how you must feel, as we feel the same. This event has been a labor of love for something we deeply believe in, and it breaks our hearts to make this call. However, we cannot proceed knowing that it only continues to affect other people and businesses associated with us. We hope you will continue to follow and support our mission and appreciate all you have done so far.

We politely ask that you refrain from messaging Shea directly and respect her personal privacy. If there are any questions or concerns that have not already been addressed, please message the group directly. Please also allow us time to respond as we are a small but mighty team, most of which volunteer our time while caring for our children along with working a full-time job.

Our volunteers and their families got to enjoy a much deserved team outing to Flip Circus in West Hartford this evening! This year we have been working hard to find a balance and celebrate our volunteers and their families for all their hard work and dedication to our organization. We are a tiny but mighty team serving nearly 6,500 families in our state, fundraising to save and lay our roots on a multimillion dollar campus, and planning an epic gala fundraiser in 90 days for our Masquerade Ball this Friday July 26th! With 72 hours left to sell as many tickets as possible, and hopefully sell out the entire venue, and all the prep we still have to do ahead. This was such a great way to spend some quality time together and enjoy time with our families and we are so grateful to Flip Circus for helping us bring a fun, family, friendly outing for all of our team members to enjoy ❤️ it takes a village to the village. Thank you for being part of ours!

In the wake of the tragic accident that claimed the life of Trooper First Class Aaron Pelletier #536 of the Connecticut State Police, we extend our deepest sympathies to his family, friends, and colleagues within the Southington community and Troop H-Hartford. Trooper Pelletier's remarkable dedication to public service, demonstrated through his unfailing devotion, honor, and integrity, left an indelible mark on our communities.

We recognize that this loss is profound, and our hearts are with his loved ones, especially his wife, and two young sons, as they navigate this difficult time. As a family man and respected community member, Trooper Pelletier's absence will be profoundly felt. His legacy of courage and bravery will forever echo in our hearts.

Join us this Sunday, May 19th from 1:30-4:30pm for our Open House! Oh, Baby Lactation Care and Elizabeth Eagan will be joining us along with the Therapy Works fire truck!

📚 Elizabeth will be doing a book signing of her new book series Speech Sound Adventure Series.
