A great afternoon of connection and collaboration at our Landlord Resource Fair! 🏡

Yesterday, landlords, service providers, and local contractors came together to network, share experiences, build new relationships, and explore ways to work together to strengthen our community.

When we bring people together, we create new opportunities to support one another and help more people find a place to call home.

A special thank you to the City of Hartford, American Eagle Financial Credit Union, and CRT Energy Assistance Program, and all who participated in the event! ❤️

Conard High School always shows up for Journey Home!

We’re so grateful for the student volunteers from Conard High School who keep coming back to volunteer with A Hand Up!

Additionally, The Conard High School Journey Home Club members are hosting extra donation drop-off hours this Saturday from 9 AM–12 PM! 🙌 

If you can’t make it during our regular donation drop-off hours on Tuesdays and Thursdays, this is the perfect opportunity to pass along some gently used furniture and household items.

Leaving an abusive situation can be complicated, and finding somewhere safe to go is not always easy.

Financial barriers, limited affordable housing options, and the need to relocate quickly can make it harder for survivors to find a safe place to start over.

That’s why housing must be part of the conversation around domestic violence. A safe, stable home can be an important step toward rebuilding a life free from abuse.
At Journey Home, we believe everyone deserves a safe place to call home. 💜

Our team recently joined the Greater Hartford Gives Foundation for a Social Enterprise Collaboration and Learning Session where we had the opportunity to connect, share ideas, and continue building our entrepreneurial skills along with our colleagues from the program.

Home for Good was shaped through this opportunity. The Social Enterprise Accelerator program helped us explore what a mission-aligned social enterprise could look like for Journey Home. Today, that vision is a thriving thrift store where every purchase supports Journey Home’s work to end homelessness.

We’re incredibly grateful to the Greater Hartford Gives Foundation for investing in this idea and helping us turn a vision into a reality.
