Today is National HIV/AIDS and Aging Awareness Day.

People with HIV are living longer, healthier lives, and more than half of people living with diagnosed HIV in the U.S. are age 50 or older.

We recognize the many people aging with HIV and the importance of accessible, affirming care at every stage of life. At The Health Collective, we know that everyone deserves care that meets them where they are with dignity, respect, and without judgment.

Last night we celebrated an "Evening of Gratitude," a wonderful opportunity of connection, community, and celebration.

Thank you to everyone who joined us last night, and a special thanks to Day Pitney LLP for hosting and helping make the evening such a meaningful one for The Health Collective.

We’re grateful for the opportunity to come together and celebrate our donors, community partners, friends, and allies who believe in the work we do and the people we serve.

Your support helps us continue creating access to critical, culturally competent health care, HIV prevention and testing, community resources, and so much more across Connecticut.

Nancy Wyman had the backs of Connecticut’s LGBTQIA+ community for decades.

She showed up for us. She stood with us. She celebrated with us. And throughout her years of public service, she made it clear that LGBTQIA+ people deserved dignity, equality, respect, and a government that would stand alongside them.

For the Health Collective, Nancy was a longtime friend and champion of our organization and the community we serve. Her presence, encouragement, and genuine warmth meant so much to us over the years.

Connecticut has lost an extraordinary public servant, and the LGBTQIA+ community has lost a deeply valued friend and advocate.

We thank Nancy for her leadership, her support, and the love she showed our community. We will miss her tremendously, and we will always be grateful that she stood with us.
