WE’RE HIRING
Hartford Fire-Rescue is seeking individuals who are passionate about patient care, take pride in their work, and are willing to learn for the following positions:

Full Time/Part Time:
EMT Basic - Starting Pay $12.00/hr
Advanced EMT - Starting Pay $14.00/hr
Paramedic - Starting Pay $16.00/hr

Firefighter Certifications are not required, however, reflect a pay increase.

Scheduling is 24/48 with Kelly Days.

Weekly Pay with OT after 40 hours.

Full Time Benefits include:
- RSA Tier I Retirement
- 13 Paid Holidays
- 1.25 hrs PTO Accrued Every Week for the First Year, Amount Accrued Increases After
- 100% Employer Paid BCBS Health Insurance for Employee; Partial Employer Paid BCBS Health Insurance for Family Plans

This week, we lost an icon of the EMS/FIRE service, although a fictional character,“Johnny Gage”, (Randolph Mantooth) and his partner Roy Desoto (Kevin Tighe), probably inspired more people to become firefighters and EMS personnel than any other single person in the world, myself included. We as firefighters and EMS personnel owe a debt of gratitude to Randolph Mantooth, both for his portrayal of “Johnny Gage” and his support of EMS and firefighters over the years. R.I.P. “Johnny”, rest easy brother, see you on the top floor. KMG 365

This post is directed to the pet owners in the area… Today I was on a scene where a three year old child was mauled by a dog. Thankfully the child will recover, but is being transferred to Birmingham, and will have a long road to recovery, and will most likely carry the scars for the rest of his life. What makes this even worse, the dog was not vaccinated, and the child will most likely have to undergo rabies treatments. Pet owners, PLEASE have your animals vaccinated, be responsible, and prevent another child or adult from having to go through these painful treatments. Please be responsible and have your animals vaccinated!

The bear stopped by the Fire Station yesterday and gave us some pointers on pumping the trucks, said he wanted us to be proficient in case his woods caught fire, then he took Engine 1 for a test drive.
