Welcome to our newest guest guide, Whitney Allen! Whitney is graciously subbing this week Thursday’s Align and Flow at 9:30 am. Help us welcome her back to Oceana County with a challenging but inclusive practice that will help you increase your strength and mobility.
Whitney began her teaching career in Los Angeles in 2002, at The Center for Yoga, which is said to be the country’s oldest yoga studio. She has been teaching regular classes there ever since.
In 2014, Whitney became a founding teacher for the Wanderlust Hollywood flagship studio, and also taught at many Wanderlust festivals in the US and Canada.
Whitney was the music supervisor for Wanderlust, and curated all of the music used in classes at the studio. She has also mentored in many Teacher Trainings.
Whitney’s regular students range from movie stars to single moms, creative youths to great-grandmothers.
In the midwest, Whitney teaches regularly in Chicago at Yogaview, one of Chicago’s oldest and most beloved studios. Her classes focus on agility and flow, on keeping the body vibrant and healthy.
Whitney moved to Pentwater part time during the Pandemic, and leaned into her longtime Ashtanga Yoga practice as she transitioned to summers and autumns in this beautiful part of the world.
Before becoming a yoga teacher, Whitney worked as a Broadway performer in New York and on National Tours.
When not on her mat, she enjoys Lake Michigan beach time, cuddling her dog, and cooking at home with her husband.
See Whitney this Thursday at 9:30 am for Vinyasa Flow for All Bodies at the usual Align and Flow time. Mandy J. Yoga will be back with that class next week! 💗
