Oceana Leads

Oceana Leads Oceana Leads is a coalition of community members working together to prevent youth substance abuse in Oceana County. Interested in joining?

Oceana Leads, Oceana County's substance abuse prevention coalition, is a team of parents, neighbors, coaches, teachers, librarians, doctors, nurses, police officers, pastors, business owners, and any community member who wants to help prevent youth substance abuse in Oceana County. Oceana Leads is an opportunity for multiple sectors to work together to keep Oceana County youth safe and healthy. Oc

eana Leads' efforts are guided by a community-owned strategic plan. Our plan was developed over the course of three meetings between April 2016 and October 2016. Through the planning process we crafted a mission statement, two priority areas, and strategies within each priority area. Youth alcohol and ma*****na use and op**te overdoses were determined to be the greatest area of concern for our community. Strategies like a social hosting coaster campaign with local restaurants, hosting community education events such as Keep Out: The Teen Room Project and substance-free events for youth and families will work to improve these priority areas. We’d love to have you! As a community member there are lots of ways to be a part of Oceana Leads. You are welcome to attend monthly or quarterly meetings, participate in events and campaigns hosted by the coalition, volunteer, and more! Simply give us a call or send an email to get started.
