Great catching up with Jonathan Wilson from DTE Energy over lunch today at Big Hart Brewing Co. Our Executive Director Curtis Burdette had a productive conversation about current and upcoming DTE projects, and appreciated the opportunity to share updates on the many exciting initiatives happening across Oceana County.

Jonathan is a great guy and a strong partner for our region. No matter how busy his schedule gets, he always makes time to visit Oceana County, listen, learn, and support the communities we serve. We appreciate DTE Energy's ongoing commitment to our area and look forward to continuing to work together to create opportunities for growth and success.

☕️ Oceana County Small Business Buzz Coffee Circle Continues to Grow!

What started in March has quickly become one of Oceana County’s favorite networking opportunities. This month’s Small Business Buzz Coffee Circle brought together leaders from small businesses, nonprofits, and community organizations to share ideas, support one another, and explore new opportunities to strengthen our local economy.

A special thank you to our partners and hosts, The Starting Block, Inc. and Dark Water Coffee, whose hospitality and great coffee help make these conversations possible each month.

One theme came up again and again during today’s conversation: what people love most about Oceana County is how neighbors help neighbors. Participants shared that there is always someone willing to lend a hand, make a connection, share a resource, or help lift up a neighboring business or organization. That spirit of collaboration is what makes our community so special.

In just one hour together, attendees identified numerous opportunities to support one another, collaborate on projects, and help local organizations succeed. The conversation was so productive that many participants stayed afterward to continue networking and find even more ways to help each other grow and thrive.

It’s inspiring to see how this group has grown since launching in March and the meaningful connections that continue to form each month. We’re already looking forward to next month’s gathering—our final Coffee Circle of 2026—before taking a short break and returning in January for another year of networking, collaboration, and community building.

Thank you to everyone who continues to make the Small Business Buzz Coffee Circle such a success!
