🎵✨ We are very excited to welcome Hub New Music! Join us for this free performance!

✨🎶 The Lincoln Memorial University (LMU) Music Program in the Paul V. Hamilton School of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences will host the contemporary quartet Hub New Music on Thursday, November 16, 2023, at 7 p.m. in the Sam and Sue Mars Performing Arts Center at Duke Hall of Citizenship. The performance is open to the public and free to anyone who wishes to attend.

🎵🎻 Called “contemporary chamber trailblazers” by the Boston Globe, Hub New Music is a quartet which performs vibrant original works written for them. The group is comprised of Michael Avitabile on flutes, Gleb Kanasevich on clarinets, Meg Rohrer on violin and viola and Jesse Christeson on cello.

✨🎵🎻 The LMU Jazz Band and Concert Band are scheduled to perform Thursday, November 2, 2023, at 6:30 p.m. The performances will take place in the Sam and Sue Mars Performing Arts Center in the Duke Hall of Citizenship.

🎶🎷 The bands include the talents of LMU students, faculty, staff and members of the community. There will be a wide variety of musical selections. Between the two bands performing this fall, there will be 36 musicians participating in some capacity. The two bands are very diverse, with two distinct sounds.

🎺🎵 The event is open to the public and admission is free! We hope to see you there!

🎶 We're thrilled to welcome the internationally acclaimed jazz duo of Peter H. Bloom, flute, and John Funkhouser, piano, on Thursday, October 19, 2023, at 7 p.m. in the Sam and Sue Mars Performing Arts Center at Duke Hall of Citizenship. The performance is free to anyone who wishes to attend. The concert, “Salute to Duke,” is part of a week-long tour in Tennessee, Georgia, North Carolina and South Carolina. It will celebrate Duke Ellington.

✨ Join us this evening and/or tomorrow for live tapings of this amazing show! It is FREE and open to the public!! We do ask you to bring a canned good to benefit Second Harvest Food Bank.

🎶🪕 Presented by The East Tennessee Historical Society (ETHS), “Appalachia Session Live” is a televised music series that debuted last fall. The series showcases music born out of the history of East Tennessee and Appalachian culture and features a diverse line-up of musicians and intimately focuses on the artists, their roots and the fundamentals of songwriting. The shows taped at LMU will be used for the first six episodes of season two. The series will air on WATE (ABC) in Knoxville, WJHL in the Tri-Cities, WWCW (CW) in Roanoke, Virginia and WDKY (Fox) in Lexington, Kentucky. The program will be syndicated nationally beginning in February. 🎻🎵

✨ Join us on Monday, August 28, 2023, for a free recital! The À la Carte Ensemble features Young Kim on the piano, Lin He playing violin and Arisia Gilmore playing the horn.

🎻 🎹 🎺 The program will feature a violin + piano fantasie by Florence Price, a solo horn set by living composer Kate Caliendo, a solo piano piece by living composer Claire Cowan, and the beloved Brahms Horn Trio.

🎼 The recital will begin at 7 p.m. in the Sam and Sue Mars Performing Arts Center in Duke Hall on the main LMU campus in Harrogate, Tennessee. The recital is free and open to the public ~ everyone is welcome.
