The Kentucky Public Service Commission has issued their final order regarding PSC Case Filing 2022-00402, which includes LGE/KU’s request to construct an industrial solar facility on the northern portion of the ‘Wilkinson Tract’ located in Mercer County. This request was granted. Mercer County and the City of Harrodsburg will still be purchasing 858 acres of the southern portion of the ‘Wilkinson Tract’ from LGE/KU, with an option to purchase an additional 100 acres, to utilize for industrial development.

REMINDER! Please attend our Community Meeting tomorrow night, Monday August 14th, 2023 at 6p at The Show Barn in Harrodsburg.

To provide updated information to citizens on the status of LGE/KU’s filing with the Public Service Commission to construct a 120MWac industrial solar facility on 900acres in Mercer County, there will be a Community Informational Meeting held on Monday August 14th at 6:00P at the Show Barn located at 2565 Louisville Rd. Harrodsburg KY 40330. An update on efforts by local/state officials, petition signatures, letters to the PSC and info on upcoming PSC public forums will be provided. This will be the final local community awareness meeting hosted by the MCRD before the Public Service Commission hearing to be held later this month, in which a final decision on the land use will be made. Please share and make plans to attend! Empower Mercer County!

The Public Service Commission will be holding several upcoming public meetings regarding PSC Case File 2022-00402, providing an information session followed by an opportunity for public comments. This is a great chance for those concerned with the contents of the PSC file to MAKE YOUR VOICE HEARD! The schedule is provided below. Please plan to attend one of the in-person meetings or tune into the virtual meeting to voice your concerns on the proposed solar facility in Mercer County! The public hearing for this filing will be August 22nd. Empower Mercer County and advocate what is best for our community!

The Mercer Coalition for Responsible Development public meeting scheduled for Monday June 12th has been RESCHEDULED! The new date for the next community public meeting will be Monday August 14th, 2023 at 6p at the Show Barn in Harrodsburg.

During the months of June and July, there will be several 'pop-up' events within the community throughout Mercer County where people can drop by and sign petitions, complete letters to the Public Service Commission and get a yard sign! These dates and locations will be posted soon.

Please continue to encourage your family, friends and neighbors to sign the petition and send letters/emails to the PSC! The public hearing for PSC Case #2022-00402 begins August 22nd, so we still have time to continue to voice the concerns of the Mercer County community! Empower Mercer County!
