❤️ HELP US WITH EMILY’S SURGERY COSTS ❤️
Sweet Emily had a LONG day yesterday. 🥺🐾
Emily came to us as a middle-aged dump-off stray. She was extremely thin, dirty, and absolutely covered in ticks. She had her initial exam and got everything she needed, and our plan was to let her gain some weight before bringing her back for her spay, double hernia repair, and mammary tumor surgeries.
Well… yesterday was the day! WOW. What a day for this sweet girl. 😭❤️
Emily had her spay, double hernia repair, and mammary tumor surgeries all done. With the amount of sutures she has, she’ll be staying with us while she heals so we can make sure everything is healing properly and get her back in for follow-up care.
We are SO incredibly grateful to Dr. Meckley and their team for the services they provide to our shelter animals. We truly appreciate the care they give our kiddos. We wouldn’t be able to afford what we do without their office❤️
As you can see below, Emily’s surgery bill was $500+, which isn’t our typical vet visit for one dog and definitely puts a dent in our funds. And below her surgery costs, you’ll see our monthly veterinary bill so far. 😳
Taking care of shelter animals is NOT cheap. But honestly? We wouldn’t have it any other way. They mean the absolute world to us, and they deserve the same level of medical care we would want for our own pets. 🐶🐱❤️

We also would like to thank The Pawsitive Care Program with BellyGuard in reaching out with some recovery suits to donate to a shelter! Sure came in handy last night to help Emily feel secure and help with pressure from the bleeding some. Very grateful for that!
