Just a reminder that the Alcona MSU Extension Office is closed today, Monday, May 25th for Memorial Day. We will resume to normal office hours on Tuesday, May 26th.

On Wednesday, Alcona 4-H members weighed in their livestock projects for the annual spring weigh-in.

These 4-H members will continue working with their animals until the Alcona County Fair. When they arrive at the Alcona County Fair, the animals will have a final weigh-in and rate-of-gain will be calculated.

Rate-of-Gain refers to the daily weight gain of an animal from the spring weigh-in to the fair. The animals that gain the most weight for each species will receive an award.

Join us! We are looking to hire support for our 4-H programs in Alcona County!

Help us deliver and support summer programs in partnership with Alcona County 4-H and Alcona Community Schools.

This position will help deliver programming at the 4-H Makerspace Classroom located at Alcona Elementary School. This includes involving youth in science, technology, engineering, arts, and more!

This weekend, Alcona will be traveling to West Branch to play Gladwin. The game is on Saturday, May 16th at 1pm at the Beasley Soccer Complex.
