It's time to Adopt-a-Wildcat!
Once again this year we're asking businesses, organizations, individuals, churches, etc. to "Adopt-a-Wildcat" and provide the entire set of school supplies for that student. We currently have 166 students who've requested help with school supplies. Lists of supplies by grade level will be posted below. Once you sign up, we'll also email you the list for the students you've adopted. You DO NOT have to purchase a backpack - we have those. Just put the supplies in individual bags for each student and label it with the grade level. School supply sets may be dropped off at the school district admin office, 503 S. Lexington, between 8-00 a.m.-3 p.m. Monday-Thursday by July 23, 2026.

McEowen Elementary Wildcats recently hosted a Lunch Buddy Celebration to thank those who've stepped up as Lunch Buddies this school year. Lunch Buddies provide a positive adult role model to students in 3rd, 4th & 5th grade. Twice a month, Lunch Buddies will spend 45 minutes with their student eating lunch, playing games, and talking. Applications are available at McEowen Elementary School. Lunch Buddies will be asked to submit to a background check - the fee is covered by Bright Futures. They will also participate in a one-two hour training session prior to their first meeting. For more information, contact Cheryl Bearden - [email protected]
