The Virginia High School League just announced its alignment advisory for the 2027-2031 cycle.
Here are some key points:
-Page County moves to Class 1. Panthers would join Buffalo Gap, Luray, Riverheads in Region 1B.
-Broadway, East Rockingham, Harrisonburg, Rocktown , Spotswood and Turner Ashby move over to Region 3B with Brentsville District, Kettle Run, Fauquier, Loudoun Valley, Goochland, etc.
-Alleghany, Staunton, Rockbridge County, Waynesboro and Wilson Memorial remain in Region 3C with the Seminole District teams.
-Skyline and Warren County join Fort Defiance, Stuarts Draft, Central, Strasburg, etc. in Region 2B.
Below is the timeline moving forward with this process:
August 10: Deadline to request an appeal (post appeals the next day)
August 17: Deadline to submit an opposition to an appeal (post appeals the next day)
August 25: Appeal Committee meets to hear appeals and recommend the final alignment plan to the Executive Committee for 2027 – 2031.
