After 15 years of faithful service, our Facilities Manager, Steve Yoder, is retiring from Mercy House.

From general maintenance to cabinet installations to electrical work, Steve's hands have touched nearly every corner of our facilities. But his impact goes far beyond that. His quiet, gentle presence has been a steady comfort to our staff and the people we serve. We're also deeply thankful to his wife, Jacki, who spent years organizing and preparing our annual Christmas meal for shelter residents.

Steve's last day with us is Friday, October 16. If his work has touched you over the years, stop by to say goodbye, leave a note in the comments, or reach out to him directly. Let's send him off with all the love and gratitude he deserves!

Viviana joins The Mercy House with a background in administration and a heart for helping others. She previously worked in Study Abroad administration at James Madison University, where she discovered her passion for making people feel supported every step of the way. A bilingual Spanish speaker, she brings an extra layer of connection and accessibility to the communities we serve.

She loves creating spaces where people feel welcomed, valued, and cared for—exactly what we're all about here at The Mercy House.

We're so excited to have Viviana on the team and can't wait to see her connect with our community! 💛
