I know what it feels like when your nervous system won’t switch off — that heavy fog, the jumpiness, the sensitivity to light and sound. Today I’m sharing gentle yoga and a quick meditation you can do anywhere — standing, seated, or in a wheelchair — to help reset your nervous system and find a little calm.
Why this helps: deep belly breaths stimulate the vagus nerve and tell your body it’s safe. Even five minutes of mindful movement can clear mental static. Try the 4-7-8 breath right now: inhale 4, hold 7 (if comfortable), exhale 8 — three rounds.
Choose a practice that fits you: a 10-minute gentle flow for standing balance, or chair yoga for neck, shoulder and spine ease. Small moves. Big impact.
I’m rooting for you. Try five minutes of silence today — no phone, no TV. Then tell me: how did it feel? Let’s support each other. 🌊🪑

After a brain injury, our nervous system can often feel like it’s stuck in "high alert" or "survival mode." This can lead to that heavy brain fatigue we talked about, as well as increased sensitivity to light and sound.
