At Skyline Middle School, our youth painted flower pots while talking about mental wellness, connection to the environment, and what growth looks like over time. The activity gave them space to reflect, and express themselves creatively while making something they can take with them.

On the Road Youth are getting out into the community!

Students from the 8th Grade Academy Rose spent time helping organize the donation room at Magnolia Rose.

Magnolia Rose is a Shenandoah Valley nonprofit that provides safe emergency housing and supportive advocacy services for young people who have experienced exploitation, helping them stabilize and connect with long-term care and resources.

We're thankful for their work and our youth were glad to help out!

Since 2014, First Tee has been leading career enrichment with On The Road Collaborative at our Skyline Middle School site. After a pause from 2020 to 2022, they returned full force in 2023. This school year, the program has expanded to Shelburne and Kate Collins as well.

First Tee’s mission, as stated on their website, is to help kids build the strength of character that empowers them through a lifetime of new challenges. By integrating the game of golf with a life skills curriculum, they create learning experiences that build inner strength, self-confidence, and resilience. These are skills our youth carry into everything they do.

We are grateful for this long-standing partnership and the impact it continues to make.

After all the snow and ice got in the way, we're so pleased to be back with youth and going strong with our Spring Career Enrichments. We have so many great classes happening across the Shenandoah Valley, including our partnership with Juice Works 3D!

We are seeking a visionary, people-centered leader to champion our afterschool programs across the Shenandoah Valley and steward the organization into its next chapter of impact.

The ideal candidate will bring a deep commitment to educational equity and youth empowerment, a passion for building strong community partnerships, and the ability to lead a mission-driven organization with strategic insight, compassion, and clarity. This role offers a unique opportunity to partner closely with the Board, support a dedicated leadership team, and strengthen On the Road’s impact across the region.
