What a day! ⛳️

A huge THANK YOU to everyone who made our Harrisonburg & Rockingham County Young Life Golf Tournament such a success yesterday!

Thank you to all of our golfers who took time out of their schedules to play, our incredible sponsors whose generosity made this event possible, our amazing volunteers who showed up early and served all day, and the team at Heritage Oaks Golf Course for hosting us and taking such great care of everyone.

Because of your support, we were able to raise significant funds that will help us continue reaching and serving hundreds of adolescents across our community through Young Life.

We are grateful for every sponsor, every volunteer, every golfer, and every person who helped make the day possible. We truly could not do it without you.

NEW DATE! ⛳️

Our HRock Young Life Golf Tournament has officially been rescheduled for Wednesday, June 10 at Heritage Oaks Golf Course with an 8:30 AM shotgun start!

We’re incredibly thankful for everyone’s flexibility after last week’s weather postponement and would love to still have you join us for a great morning of golf, prizes, and supporting local Young Life ministry in Harrisonburg & Rockingham County.

Hey everyone,

What started as “a little rain” in the forecast has now turned into almost an inch of rain tomorrow, with temperatures dropping into the 50s throughout the day. We know some of you would absolutely still show up and play through it because you love Young Life and believe in what we do — and honestly, that means a lot to us.

But after watching the forecast continue to get worse and worse, we’ve decided we need to postpone tomorrow’s HRock Young Life Golf Tournament at Heritage Oaks.

We look forward to this tournament all year long. We were excited for Tropical Smoothie and Tacos 4 Life, all the raffle prizes, and the competitions for longest drive, closest to the pin, and the putting contest. More than anything, we were excited to spend a fun day together supporting a mission we all care deeply about. We want this event to be enjoyable, not miserable.

At this point, we do not yet have a reschedule date nailed down. We’re working with Heritage Oaks to find the best possible option and will communicate that date as soon as we can. We realize the further we get into summer, the more difficult schedules and availability become, so we’ll do our best to give everyone as much notice as possible.

We’re really sorry for any inconvenience this causes. We waited as long as we could hoping the forecast would improve while also trying to secure a new date with the course, but at this point we had to make the call.

Thank you again for your support of Young Life, your sponsorships, your flexibility, and your willingness to even brave the wet weather with us. We’re incredibly grateful for all of you and hope to see you soon when we’re able to make this tournament happen.

The Night Before the Great Community Give…

The night before the Great Community Give,
All across town, hope was alive;
The leaders were ready, their phones set with care,
Knowing that giving day soon would be there.

The students were dreaming of summer camp days,
Of cabins and campfires and waterfront plays;
Of laughter and friendships and stories to tell,
Of moments that shape them and love them so well.

When out in the community, quiet but bright,
Friends, families, neighbors prepared for the night;
For tomorrow’s the day when we all come together,
To lift up this mission that lasts forever.

From 6 in the morning till 8 in the night,
We’ll rally our town to give with their might;
With a goal set before us, bold as can be—
Eight hundred donors from folks just like thee!

And $80,000, a number so strong,
To send kids to camp where they truly belong;
To keep the lights on and leaders in place,
So more kids can learn of God’s love and His grace.

So here is our ask as the morning draws near,
Would you give generously when the time’s here?
And don’t give alone—help spread the word wide,
Invite others to join you right by your side.

Text friends and coworkers, neighbors next door,
Call family members—yes, even a few more!
Share posts, send links, let the message be known,
That together we’re stronger than going alone.

For every small gift and each generous share,
Brings hope to a student who needs someone there;
And together, as one, our whole town can say—
We showed up with love on giving day.

So sleep well tonight, but tomorrow let’s give,
For kids and for futures and the lives they will live;
And as morning arrives, may this be our cry:

“Let’s give big, give bold, and invite others to try!”
