Do you miss DMAD as much as we do??⚡

In August, we welcomed over 100 New Dukes to JMU and Harrisonburg. Over three days, we served, connected, and grew as a community. Together, we helped 13 local organizations and completed 840 service hours! From promoting health & well-being to protecting the environment, we witnessed the power of people showing up for each other.

We are excited to share this accomplishment and what it means for the future of food recovery on our campus and in our community!

This three-year initiative will expand food recovery efforts, engage more student volunteers, and increase access to recovered meals alongside partners like Food Recovery Network and the Salvation Army of Harrisonburg and Rockingham County.

JMU was awarded $243,387 from the Virginia Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) to decrease the amount of food being sent to landfill and support local food systems.

Make an impact this Spring Break!

March 14–21 we’re heading to St. Marys, GA to serve on Cumberland Island, a rare barrier island with unique wildlife, history, and ecosystems worth protecting.

We’ll work on trail clearing and rerouting, repair and replace trail signs, help maintain historic structures, and live and serve together while learning about conservation and ecology.

Cost: $350 (financial assistance available, up to 50% off)
