strives to provide individuals with intellectual disabilities an enhanced quality of life and create care plans based on the specific needs of each person. Through a wide variety of training, clients improve their ability to reside within the community and achieve maximum independence. ILI’s services are individually tailored, and may range from 40 hours a month to 24 hours a day, depending on our

clients need. Every client receives assistance through a specialized Individual Habilitation Plan, in which five areas of human development are addressed each day: Cognitive, Sensory, Motor, Communicative and Social behavior. Each plan is developed with an aim of helping consumers achieve maximum independence, eventually reducing or eliminating their need for services altogether. We have a supervised residential living program for clients who require 24-hour assistance and care. The residential living program includes two facilities, a male and a female group home, each with the capacity to serve nine residents. ILI offers a comprehensive case management program that provides for the initiation of services needed and the ongoing monitoring of all services provided. Case managers are responsible for locating, coordinating, and supervising all needed medical, social, education, and other services, as well as any informal community supports clients may require. In 2005, we relocated the Employment Training Center (ETC) from a converted airplane hangar outside of town to our Cherry Street facility. The move allowed ILI to grow the ETC client base and meet government mandated space requirements for the facility. As a part of our facility in Harrison, the ETC serves as an extension of Special Education services for adults. Aiming to provide each participant the opportunity to improve skills such as; language development, reading, money management, computer literacy, community awareness, nutrition, fitness and personal hygiene, the ETC offers clients the tools to increase their independence and promote community integration. We currently serve over 60 clients ranging from age 8 to 76 years old. ILI strives to provide clients a life parallel to that of persons without disabilities, which is not possible on government funding alone.
