The mission continues… 🇺🇸❤️

Wanted to take a moment to shout out The Home Depot Foundation and all of the volunteers who showed up and got to work today on the Community Center for our Veterans!

We have the privilege of serving some incredibly deserving individuals who have sacrificed so much in service to our country. Every hour volunteered, every project completed, and every person who believes in this mission helps us continue building a Veterans Community they can be proud to call home.

Thank you to everyone who continues to believe in the mission and invest in our Veterans. We are so grateful!

Our first event was a success! 🇺🇸❤️ Thank you to Harrison 150 for including Warriors Retreat in such a special community celebration!

It was heartwarming to welcome visitors and Veterans to our Veteran Honor Wall, where they shared the names of those they love, honor, and remember. Even more meaningful was getting to listen to the stories behind those names.

Thank you to everyone who participated, stopped to hear about our mission, or donated to support the cause. Every conversation and connection mattered.

And a special shoutout to Mrs. Weddle’s Harrison Preschool class for making the beautiful flags for our Honor Wall! 🇺🇸 Those little hands helped make it extra special. ❤️🤍💙

We still have units available for Veterans looking for more than housing but a community to call home. 🇺🇸

Sometimes, it’s what happens behind the scenes that counts the most. After our Grand Opening ceremony, our photographer, Kenzi, sat down with Chris to hear his story. But much of the conversation quickly shifted away from himself and toward his fallen comrade, his story, and Chris’s desire to honor and carry on his legacy.

Stories deserve to keep being told. 🇺🇸❤️

From our Property Manager and First Sergeant, Louis:
We're building more than a veterans community we're building a brand-new family, and it's exciting.
The guys didn't hesitate to jump in and help. What would have taken one man hours to accomplish took all of us just 30 minutes as we worked together to mow our neighbor's yard.

Wow... what a day.
As we prepare for tomorrow's Grand Opening of Warriors Retreat, my heart is overflowing with gratitude. Today was a beautiful reminder that this community has been built by people who simply chose to show up.
A special thank you to the student volunteers from Harrison High School, including a great group of football players who jumped in to help wherever they were needed.
Thank you to Justin and the volunteer crew from The The Home Depot Foundationfor continuing to pour into this project. To Brian Fox, who traveled far to serve as our Grill Master for tomorrow's celebration. To Chris Johnson, who flew in from North Carolina to be with us. To Danny Hall for clearing additional parking areas. To Recovery Center of the Ozarks for helping with limb removal. And to our family, friends, neighbors, and everyone else who gave their time, equipment, encouragement, and support—thank you.
The most meaningful part of today wasn't just watching the work get done. It was watching our Veterans become a community. They shared meals, swapped stories, laughed together, helped one another, and one even gave another a haircut.
That's what Warriors Retreat is all about.
Not just housing.
Not just buildings.
A place where Veterans belong.
Tomorrow we cut a ribbon. Today, we witnessed the mission coming to life. 🇺🇸❤️

In 11 days we cut the ribbon to celebrate and welcome our Veterans HOME!
