WISHES FOR DREW - FIGHTING TO END DUCHENNE
Drew has a serious muscle wasting disease called Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy. It is considered a rare disease, however, it is the most common and one of the most serious muscle wasting diseases. It can be carried genetically through a family lineage or it can arise spontaneously. There is no cure to this disease and it’s victims typically end up losing the ability to walk by they time they are 10-13 years of age and eventually the disease will impact the heart and the lungs. There are many potential treatments and therapies on the horizon for DMD (and similar MD sufferers), so our goal is to fight with everything we have to keep Drew healthy, mobile, and happy for as long as possible while a cure is found. We also hope to raise awareness and eventually funds to benefit research and other individuals with DMD. Thank you for following our page and together we hope to conquer this disease which affects so many!
