Mission To Myanmar

Mission To Myanmar By God’s Grace we are helping the people of Myanmar as they plant the cross in their war torn home

Mission to Myanmar was born after Pastor Mark Robinette, visited Myanmar for the first time in 2013 and discovered an amazing, fruitful Christian network in an almost entirely Buddhist country. Myanmar—formerly known as Burma, located in Southeast Asia, between Thailand and India—had been virtually closed to the outside world for decades, much like North Korea. The door to Myanmar closed again in

February of 2021 after a military coup, but not before deep connections were made between the church in Myanmar and the church in the United States. A group of very persecuted Christians of sixteen churches spread around Myanmar, had a Bible school, two orphanages, and an active evangelistic and humanitarian outreach. The Mission to Myanmar team that was formed saw how much this beleaguered and battered group of believers was able to do with next to no resources and thought that if they were able to raise resources for them, they could do so much more. Since 2013 Mission to Myanmar, has helped the Myanmar people build several churches, a three-story ministry center in Yangon, two permanent orphanage buildings while also equipping them with numerous motorcycles and one four-wheel-drive truck. Mission to Myanmar has been privileged to take part in medical and humanitarian aid missions after two natural disasters as well as bring medical teams for mobile clinics across Myanmar. In January of 2021, we helped them publish a first-ever New Testament in the Kaang Chin language and have committed to support them as they complete and publish the Old Testament as well. Our aim is to help those already engaged in fruitful ministry to do more of what they’re already doing. Now that the country is closed again and travel is restricted, our mission continues from afar, and we have made connections with refugees who have come to the United States for asylum. Our relationships with the Myanmar people here in the USA were made possible by our work in Myanmar but now have taken on a life of their own. We are publishing out-of-print books to help them reclaim their Christian history which began with American missionaries and build a museum in Iowa focusing on this subject.

This week, our children at the orphanage will begin their new school year, and we couldn’t be more excited! Watching these kids grow, learn, and dream about their futures is such a gift, and this season is always filled with hope and anticipation.

As we prepare to send them back to school, we still need your help. We are working to provide everything they need for the year ahead, including tuition, uniforms, clothing, umbrellas, new school books, workbooks, school bags, and other essential supplies.
Our goal is to raise $2,000 this week to cover these costs and ensure every child is prepared and ready to learn with confidence and dignity.

For many of these children, education is more than just going to school—it is an opportunity to build a brighter future and pursue dreams that once seemed out of reach.

Would you consider supporting, and praying for our children, and sharing this post?

Thank you for continuing to stand with our children and love them so faithfully. Together, we can help them start this school year strong.

Friends, I need your help.

My portion of this trip is coming to an end this week, and before I leave, we are working hard to make sure everything is fully provided for and set up well for the children, families, and ministry teams on the ground here and in Myanmar

These past couple months have stretched us in every way, but we have also seen God’s faithfulness over and over again. In the middle of hardship, displacement, loss, and uncertainty, we have watched Him provide exactly what was needed time and time again. Because of your prayers and generosity, we have been able to continue caring for children, supporting families, providing food and supplies, and bringing hope into some very difficult places.

Before I head home, there are still several important needs we are trying to cover and final details we need to put into place. We are asking you to pray and, if you feel led, to support financially as we finish out this month strong. Every gift, prayer, truly makes a difference.

Thank you for standing with us and for loving the people of Myanmar so well. We could not do this without you.

We are so excited that our children at the orphanage will be starting their new school year next week. Watching these kids grow, learn, and dream for their future is such a gift, and this season is always full of hope and anticipation.

But before school begins, we need your help.
Right now, conditions are very difficult for many children in Myanmar, and at Mercy Children's Home, we want to provide our kids with everything they need to prepare for the new school year. We are working to gather essential supplies like exercise books, textbooks, school bags, umbrellas, and uniforms so each child can begin the year ready to learn with confidence and dignity.

Next week will be a busy time of preparation for all the children. Every gift, prayer, and share helps us care for them well and ensures they have what they need to succeed.

Would you consider making a donation to help us purchase these much-needed school supplies? Even a small contribution can make a big difference in the lives of our children.

Thank you for continuing to stand with our children and love them so faithfully.

Medical checkups at the children’s home as we prepare for rainy season. Every year sickness tends to hit our kids pretty hard during these months, so we are doing everything we can to prepare well ahead of time.

Nurses came to the ministry complex to help care for the children and make sure they are healthy heading into this season. These small steps matter deeply.

Pray for protection over the kids, for health and strength in the months ahead, and for wisdom as we care for each child entrusted to us. Thank you for continuing to stand with Myanmar through every season. ♥️

Please pray for our sweet James. He broke his arm and is in so much pain right now. Pray for comfort, healing, and a quick recovery. Pray the doctors have wisdom and that his little arm heals well and fully.

Mission to Myanmar isn’t just made up of the big moments. It’s the sum of all the individual lives God has trusted to us.

Sometimes you have to zoom out for a second. We can get so deep in the middle of the hard work, the long days, and the constant needs that we miss the beauty of what God is actually doing right in front of us.

We’ve watched malnourished toddlers who had lost strength in their legs learn to walk again… and later run laughing through the ministry complex healthy and full of life.

We’ve seen sibling groups arrive quiet, shy, and uncertain, and slowly become the loudest kids at the dinner table.

A three-day-old baby once lying in a hospital bed knocking at death’s door was healed and now brings so much joy and life into our children’s home.

And babies who were once discarded or without hope are now growing into strong, joy-filled children with access to education, stability, safety, and love.

They are not just orphans to us. They are our little brothers and sisters. They are children who put on choreographed dances for church, play tag in the tall grass until sunset, and pick our mango trees completely empty.

We don’t just hold our ground for today. We build for tomorrow.

This ministry has always been about more than relief work. It’s about restoration. It’s about watching God rewrite stories that once felt impossible.

Hope is alive in Myanmar.

If you feel led to stand with us, we would love to invite you into this journey. Your prayers, your support, and even sharing these stories matter more than you know. Every child cared for and every future being rebuilt is possible because people choose to stand with us.

Thank you for helping us continue building for tomorrow.

After months of prayer, hard work, navigating challenges, and trusting God through so many unknowns, we have officially found a school for the kids — and they have been accepted. Their classes begin next week.

This is such a huge answer to prayer.

We are incredibly excited to become a part of this community. The school’s heart for education, ministry, and the local people has deeply inspired us from the very beginning. Ruth and Abraham are especially looking forward not only to learning, but also to serving and ministering to those around them while attending.

What began for me as a short one-month trip unexpectedly turned into nearly three months of building stability and helping lay foundations for this next season of life. Over these past months we have worked to find housing, transportation, community, a church, and now finally a school. There have been so many moments where things felt uncertain, overwhelming, or simply impossible to figure out, but God has continued to faithfully make a way step by step.

Now we are entering another important stage. While the kids have been graciously accepted into school, we still need to raise funds for tuition, educational visa costs, books, laptops, uniforms, transportation bikes, and all the normal school fees that are usually required upfront. Because of the situation surrounding these children, the school has kindly given us a grace period to fundraise what is needed, and we are deeply thankful for their compassion and generosity.

At times the list of needs can feel endless, but every open door along the way has reminded us that none of this journey has happened by accident. Every opportunity has been an answer to prayer.

As things continue falling into place, I am finally beginning to see a path toward returning home and catching up on all the work Mission to Myanmar needs done stateside. While my portion of this journey here may slowly be coming to an end, theirs is only just beginning. Knowing the kids are stepping into stability, education, and community brings so much peace after months of uncertainty.

Thank you for continuing to stand with us, pray with us, encourage us, and support Mission to Myanmar. Your love and generosity are helping create stability, opportunity, healing, and hope for these children after so much uncertainty.

Join the journey with us by praying, donating, and sharing this with someone who may feel called to partner alongside this mission. We are so thankful you are walking this road with us.

Much love,
Rebekah Robinette
