Hunter Nation Pennsylvania State Director Dan Sneath in Harrisburg on Tuesday taking time to meet with Representatives Brian Smith, Eric Davanzo, and Ryan Warner to discuss hunting and our hunting heritage here in Pennsylvania!

Dan was in attendance at the House Game and Fisheries Committee meeting. He also met with Commission Executive Director Steve Smith and Legislative Affairs Officer Koty McGowan.

Hunter Nation works to create and keep hunting opportunities here in Pennsylvania and on a national level!

State Director Dan Sneath spoke at the Pennsylvania Game Commission Board of Commissioners Meeting this morning. He requested that the Board of Commissioners implement full Sunday hunting for the 2026/2027 license year. Dan also spoke about Hunter Nation fully supporting the Saturday Opener of Rifle Deer season.

Dan spoke in support of the Mentored Youth Program in Pennsylvania, as did Ray Taylor, Bob Chase, and Michael Riddle.

State Director John Bingaman also attended the meeting.

Opening day update! Senate Bill 1244 was introduced by Senator Yaw, it takes away a full weekend of rifle hunting and moves the opening day to Monday. Saturday support must speak up! Click on the "Find-my- legislator" link below and contact your Senator, make it known that you support the Saturday opener and are against SB1244!

Hunter Nation fully supports the Saturday rifle opening day here in Pennsylvania! Senator Gene Yaw has introduced Senate Bill 1244 which changes to opening day back to Monday and takes away a full weekend of hunting making the season 14 days instead of 16. We will continue to oppose this and anything that takes hunting opportunities away from hard working Pennsylvania hunters and their families. Please contact your Senator by clicking the link below and let them know you support the Saturday opening day and they need to oppose SB1244!
