Standing on years of history to ministry within the community, we have taken over an historic Mansion that stands out among the ruins of our city. Wildheart is a transformative community of believers committed to empowering others to pioneer love in

their cities and nations. We provide service and sponsorship opportunities for those who desire to impact their communities and see their cities transformed by the power of the Gospel. Locally, we have an initiative called “Love the Hill” which is focused on restoring and beautifying Allison Hill, while empowering her residents to break the chains and cycle of poverty. Within two short years, they have removed over 1 MILLION pounds of trash within 20 city blocks, affecting nearly 500 homes.

Did you hear the good news? Wildheart received a $367,830 grant for our first affordable housing project on Market Street 🎉

This brings us to 95% of the funding needed for The Gateway, which will allow us to break ground in just over 1 month! 🏘🏗

🎉 Congratulations to Tannon Herman 🎉

Recipient of the 2026 Rotary Club of Harrisburg Community Service Award

The Rotary Club of Harrisburg and the CSA Committee is proud to recognize Tannon Herman (who was nominated by Char Magaro) as the 2026 Community Service Award Winner for his outstanding commitment to serving the Harrisburg community.

As Co-Founder and Executive Director of Wildheart, Tannon has played a transformative role in revitalizing the Allison Hill neighborhood. What began as grassroots conversations with neighbors has grown into a powerful movement that now mobilizes thousands of volunteers each year. Under his leadership, Wildheart has removed millions of pounds of trash, developed an urban farm to promote food security and education, and continues to deliver hands-on support to those in need.

Tannon is also helping shape the future of Harrisburg through the launch of the Harrisburg Community Development Corporation, focused on creating affordable homeownership opportunities and building generational wealth, beginning with the upcoming Gateway development on Market Street that will break ground in July.

His impact has been widely recognized, including honors such as the City of Harrisburg’s Unsung Heroes Award (2021) and the Martin Luther King, Jr. Leadership Award (2024). Wildheart has also received numerous regional and statewide accolades for its community engagement and environmental efforts.

Tannon exemplifies the very best of Rotary’s motto, Service Above Self, through his vision, leadership, and unwavering dedication to improving lives across our community.

👏 Please join us in congratulating Tannon Herman on this well-deserved recognition!

Here’s a little look at what we’ve been working on this Spring 👀

We had this Amish-built building delivered to the Farm in April, and Tyler has been working hard to finish out the inside and add electricity 🔌

The downstairs will provide space to process and store vegetables for our weekly markets at Hamilton Health Center on Wednesdays from 10:00am - 2:00pm, as well as a cold storage space 🥬

The upstairs will be utilized as an educational classroom space for field trips and classes 📚
