Honoring 25 Years of Courage, Duty, and Sacrifice
Twenty-five years ago today, our nation faced an unimaginable tragedy that changed the landscape of law enforcement and public safety forever. On September 11, 2001, when danger erupted, our nation’s first responders didn't hesitate—they ran toward the crisis to save lives.
Today, the members and leadership of the Commonwealth Constable Association stand together to honor the memory of the 2,977 innocent lives lost on that fateful day. We pay special tribute to the 71 law enforcement officers, 343 firefighters, 55 military service members, and 8 paramedics who made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty.
We also recognize the lasting toll of 9/11. We honor the thousands of officers, rescue workers, and volunteers—including those from right here in our Commonwealth—who served in the grueling weeks of recovery and have since suffered or passed from 9/11-related illnesses.
As Constables, our duty is rooted in serving and protecting our local judicial system and communities. The courage shown on September 11 remains the highest standard of public service and selflessness.
To our fellow Constables, first responders, and peace officers across Pennsylvania and the nation: we honor your steadfast service, we support your families, and we will NEVER FORGET.
