Almost two years later, the mountains of Western North Carolina still carry the scars of Hurricane Helene. And y’all, the work is not finished.
There are still families living in campers, sheds, and temporary housing, waiting for the day they can finally say, “We’re home.”
But here’s what I want you to see: not just what Helene destroyed. Look at what people who refuse to forget their neighbors can rebuild. ❤️
Because of the donors and volunteers who have stood behind Patriot Relief—and the incredible work alongside Austin Lineberry and New River Building—another family gets to come home. Where there was devastation, there is life again. Where something was taken away, something new is standing.
This is what “we the people” looks like to me as America celebrates 250 years. 🇺🇸 It’s not waiting around for somebody else to fix everything. It’s neighbors showing up for neighbors. It’s giving what you can, swinging a hammer when you can, spending a weekend of your summer vacation serving somebody you may have never met.
And we’re not done.
There are more families waiting. More homes that need rebuilding. More people who need to know they haven’t been forgotten.
Come to the mountains. Serve with us. Give if you can. And help us bring another family HOME. ❤️🇺🇸
Who’s ready to help us keep going?
