As Sickle Cell Awareness Month comes to a close, we have two important events left: our community blood drive and our press conference. ❤️

🩸 Community Blood Drive: Friday, September 25, from 10:30 AM to 3:00 PM at St. Paul’s Baptist Church, 1201 N. 17th Street, Harrisburg. Blood donations can make a lifesaving difference for people living with sickle cell disease. To schedule an appointment, visit RedCrossBlood.org and enter Harrisburg, or call 1-800-RED-CROSS.

🎙️ Press Conference: Wednesday, September 30, at 9:00 AM in the East Wing Rotunda of the Pennsylvania State Capitol. We’ll close out the month by shining a light on sickle cell disease and the families it affects.

I’m grateful to the community leaders who stepped up to lend their voices to this cause, and to everyone who continues to support our warriors and families. Awareness Month may end, but our work continues. ❤️

Yesterday marked the kickoff of Sickle Cell Awareness Month! ❤️

The South Central Pennsylvania Sickle Cell Council started the month at the Harrisburg Senators game with Sickle Cell Day. We were proud to support our warriors by providing them with free tickets so they could enjoy the game with their families.

What a wonderful way to begin a month dedicated to raising awareness, supporting our warriors, and strengthening our sickle cell community! ❤️⚾️ Next up Sickle Cell Walk ‼️. WHO IS COMING

“Tionne recently experienced a sickle cell crisis that required hospitalization, and she is currently recovering and regaining her strength,” TLC rep Christal Jordan told USA Today on Wednesday, September 2.

“Hearing audiences sing her parts, lift her up in prayer, and surround TLC with so much love has meant more than we can express,” Jordan said. “Sickle cell is a serious illness, so we ask everyone to please keep the prayers coming as Tionne continues to recover. We are immensely grateful for the love and support." 🙏🏾❤️‍🩹
