Every day in the Central Dauphin School District, teachers are doing extraordinary things that rarely make headlines — mentoring a student through a tough moment, redesigning a lesson to reach every learner, or simply believing in a child who needs it most.

This past week the Panther Ram Foundation was honored to recognize three Outstanding Teachers in Central Dauphin School District. Our district has hundreds of educators who consistently give more than what’s asked, who lead with empathy, and who show our students what’s possible this year we honored Becky Warner - West Hanover Elementary School, Rob Rothrock - CD East Middle School and Cheryl Gerry - CD East High School.

The Panther Ram Foundation recently honored three Central Dauphin School District Distinguished Alumni whose leadership and impact continue to make a difference: Bill Rothman - CD Class of 1959, Ken Shutts - CD East Class of 1972, and Cal Ritter - CD Class of 1962.

Each of these individuals exemplifies what it means to lead with purpose— through professional achievement, community service, and lifelong commitment to giving back. Their accomplishments reflect not only personal success, but also the strength and values instilled by our schools.

It’s inspiring to see how Central Dauphin School District graduates continue to shape our region and beyond. Congratulations to this year’s honorees—your dedication sets a powerful example for current and future students!

Wow, Sandra and Ryan, you two nailed it! This event is an absolute blast for the whole family to come out and cheer! Remember last year? The energy was electric as the students watched their teachers face off in an epic showdown! I love how this game has evolved, all to support NutriPacks and the families in our school district. Let’s keep the excitement going!

Congratulations to Bobbie Gaiski Van Buskirk! Bobbie has been an invaluable force on the foundation Board for the past 12 years. As a proud CD High School Alumni and parent of two CD High School Alumni, she embodies dedication and community spirit, generously sharing her time with the PTA/PTO and CD Football Booster Club.

A lifelong Central PA resident, Bobbie Van Buskirk embodies dedication and expertise in real estate, construction and development. As director of business development for A.P. Williams, Mainline Excavating, Inc., Williams Site Civil, LLC., and Williams Development Partners, LLC, she leads marketing initiatives while fostering strategic relationships with stakeholders across the region.

Bobbie oversees a diverse portfolio of medical offices, surgical centers, commercial offices, retail centers, HOAs and warehouse facilities. She is committed to ensuring safety, efficiency, and tenant satisfaction through her day-to-day management and responsiveness.

She has an unwavering commitment to the community, serving on numerous boards and committees including Midwest Food Bank, the Panther Ram Foundation, NutriPacks, TFEC Women and Girls Fund, the Home Builders Association of Metropolitan Harrisburg, the National Association of Women in Construction and her current role as president of the Kiwanis Club of Harrisburg.

Bobbie has three main passions: gardening, cooking and volunteering. She loves watching plants flourish and unleashing her creativity in the kitchen by experimenting with ingredients. She is also fulfilled by volunteering - giving back to the community and making a positive impact.

Please round up at Giant Foods to support CDSD NutriPacks Program!!

Central Dauphin School District and CDSD NutriPacks Program is proud to participate in the GIANT Feeding School Kids campaign! From January 1 – March 31, you can round up at the register to support our district’s efforts to eliminate childhood hunger.
Through this campaign, CDSD NutriPacks Program can use funds to provide weekly food packs which provide weekend meals to our students.
