Another shout out to amazing stewards who keep the camping islands on the trail open and ready for service! Steward Karen provided a few images of Island 93, ready for visitors!

As always, remember to check water levels to ensure that your trip is a pleasant one. The predicted four to five days of rain could make the water levels unsafe.

Island Stewards have started preparing islands for visitors! While the temperatures are heating up, remember that water temperatures may still be cold. Please wear your PFD to ensure your safety.

Steward Karen provided these images of Site 89. Note the sign designating that it is an official camping island. Some islands are privately owned, so please make sure that you see the camping sign to know that you are on a designated island.

What a welcoming site! Thank you Stewards!

There is a new island in town.

In 2025, the Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources acquired new islands in the Susquehanna River. Situated just upstream of the confluence of the Juniata and Susquehanna Rivers, these islands constitute the newest addition to the Weiser Forest District, and support the recreation of anglers, paddlers, and users of the Susquehanna River Water Trail.

Please note, while these are DCNR owned islands, the SRTA is not currently maintaining any island campsites on them.
