The Shire of Blak Rose has received a Letter of Intent for the position of Deputy Seneschal. This will be formally voted upon at our next Business Meeting on August 11 at 7 PM. Here follows the official posting of the Letter of Intent as received by the Seneschal and Chronicler:
Please accept this letter as my formal Letter of Intent to be considered for appointment as Deputy Seneschal of the Shire of Blak Rose.
My name is Shawn Gisewhite, known in the Society for Creative Anachronism as Charles de Gyse.

I am seeking the position of Deputy Seneschal because I sincerely want to help strengthen, revitalize, and grow the Shire of Blak Rose. I believe that healthy local groups are built through strong leadership, open communication, welcoming newcomers, and consistent organization, and I would like the opportunity to contribute those qualities in service to the Shire.
I have been involved in the Society, on and off, since 2015, beginning in the Kingdom of Atlantia and later becoming active in the Kingdom of Aethelmearc. During that time, I founded House Goosewic, which grew to nearly thirty members in less than a year. More importantly, the overwhelming majority of those members have remained active participants in the Society, something I attribute to fostering a welcoming, supportive, and engaging environment.
Outside of the SCA, I bring extensive leadership and organizational experience. I have served in nonprofit leadership as a Senior Pastor for approximately ten years, worked as a Paralegal, and held management positions requiring organization, communication, and problem-solving. I also served as a full-time Resort Activities Director, where I planned and coordinated events for large groups, and I have many years of experience organizing events through Civil War reenacting organizations and various churches.
Within House Goosewic, I have organized numerous gatherings and feasts while helping coordinate activities that encourage fellowship, participation, and continued involvement in the Society. These experiences have strengthened my ability to communicate effectively, manage volunteers, solve problems, and see projects through to completion in an efficient and organized manner.
If selected as Deputy Seneschal, I would strive to support the Seneschal in every way possible while working collaboratively with the officers and members of the Shire. My goal would be to help create an environment where members feel welcomed, valued, and excited to participate, while ensuring the administrative responsibilities of the office are handled professionally and efficiently.
