🚔🏈 THE THIN BLUE LINE FOOTBALL GAME IS BACK! 🏈🚔

Sheriff Nick Chimienti Jr. of Dauphin County is proud to announce the return of the Thin Blue Line Football Game, a tradition that honors the courage, sacrifice, and legacy of our fallen law enforcement officers.

📅 Friday, September 25, 2026
🕖 Kickoff: 7:00 PM
📍 Rocco Ortenzio Field – McDevitt High School
🏈 Bishop McDevitt vs. Cumberland Valley

After several years away, this special event is finally returning. We were forced to pause the game during a time when the anti-law enforcement climate made it difficult to find schools willing to host this meaningful tradition. Thankfully, times have changed, and they have received numerous requests to bring it back. They are honored to once again host this incredible event.

The Thin Blue Line Football Game is much more than a rivalry on the field. It is an opportunity for our community and the law enforcement family to stand together in remembrance of the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty. Most importantly, it is a chance to honor and support the surviving families of our fallen officers and first responders, reminding them that their loved ones are never forgotten.

💙 Mark your calendars, wear your blue, and help them to make the return of the Thin Blue Line Football Game a night to remember.

Never Forgotten. Always Honored. 💙

Our law enforcement agencies are facing a growing staffing crisis. In 2024, the approximately 24,300 police officers and sheriff’s deputies employed statewide was an 11-year low and 14% decline since 2013.

Representing the PSA before a recent House Republican Policy Committee hearing, Carbon County Sheriff Dan Zeigler highlighted the real-world impact of pay disparities between counties. After investing in the training and certification of new deputies, smaller offices can lose them to neighboring agencies offering significantly higher wages.

Sheriff Zeigler, who is also a member of the PSA Executive Committee, stressed that vacancies put added pressure on existing personnel, contributing to burnout and further turnover. He called for solutions including a minimum pay standard for sheriff’s deputies and state funding for retention stipends.

The less law enforcement personnel we have, the less safe we all are. Pennsylvania must take action to strengthen the pipeline into law enforcement without lowering the standards needed to protect our communities.

Congratulations to the Newest Certified York County Sheriff’s Office K9 Team!

On Wednesday, August 26, 2026, Cpl. Wolf and K9 Mason successfully completed their training academy and officially became a certified K9 team through the National Association of Professional Canine Handlers (NAPCH) and in accordance with PA Act 60.

K9 Mason’s training began when he was just 10 weeks old. Over the past six months, Cpl. Wolf and K9 Mason dedicated countless hours to developing and mastering the skills necessary to become a successful tracking team.

Less than 24 hours after becoming certified, Cpl. Wolf and K9 Mason were called to assist with their first search. Late in the evening, local law enforcement requested assistance after an older adult had been reported wandering from his home earlier in the day, at approximately 1:30 p.m.

Cpl. Wolf and K9 Mason were deployed to the scene. Mason successfully picked up the scent and began following a track that was already more than five hours old.

As K9 Mason and Cpl. Wolf worked their way along the track, local officers were able to locate the individual — on the very same path Mason was following.A tremendous first track for a newly certified team!

Congratulations, K9 Mason! Welcome to the team!
