The Harrisburg Community Arts Center is a local nonprofit dedicated to bringing more opportunities to experience, learn, and celebrate the arts right here in Harrisburg. We’re excited to offer this free 45-minute music class for elementary-aged children.

Kids will explore music through fun, interactive games and activities that encourage rhythm, movement, listening, creativity, and musical expression. No previous musical experience is needed—just come ready to have fun and celebrate the joy of music!

This is a free event open to elementary-aged children. Registration is required. You can register on our website (harrisburg.yoursdlibrary.org/calendar) or by calling the library at 605-767-7910.

Congratulations to our own Shonda Kelly for her library staff certification! If you have come into the library and seen our beautiful bulletin board or the castle in the children’s area, then you have seen some of Shonda’s great work. Thank you for your dedication and hard work, Shonda!

Our conference theme this year is "South Dakota Strong," and as we meet in Pierre for the SDLA Annual Conference today and tomorrow, we are reminded that libraries, library workers, and information access make our communities stronger.

We are so excited to announce that the library now has hotspots available for lending! The SDSU Extension and AARP South Dakota Rural Library Hotspot Lending Program provides hotspot lending through rural public libraries, allowing community members to “check out the Internet” and bring connectivity to the comfort of their homes. Thank you to SDSU Extension and AARP South Dakota for this opportunity for our patrons!

This is a free service available to our patrons over the age of 18. Hotspots devices are limited, so we cannot guarantee availability.
