The Harrisburg Community Library is a welcoming environment that connects the community to enriching informational, educational, recreational, and entertainment resources. We have a wide array of items (books, dvds, BluRay discs, E-readers, and audiobooks) that can be checked out at no cost to community members. In observance of Juneteenth and for deep cleaning of the library, the Harrisburg Community Library will be closed Thursday, June 18th - Saturday, June 20th.

We will reopen on Monday, June 22nd at 10am. As always, no fines will accrue while we are closed.

Have you heard the news?!

We're all fired up about the Summer Reading Program! We have Summer Reading Challenges for ages 3 - 5, elementary school, middle school, high school, and adults. For the youngest members of the family, we have our year-round 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten program. There is something for EVERYONE this summer at your library!

The Harrisburg Community Library will be closed tomorrow, Saturday, June 13 for Harrisburg Days. We hope everyone gets a chance to enjoy the Harrisburg Days festivities, and we will be back open for normal hours on Monday, June 15 at 10am.

Did you know that we have 3-Day South Dakota State Park Passes available for checkout? These are park passes that are good for any South Dakota State Park for up to 3 days (no renewals, available once per month per patron). Special thank you to South Dakota Game, Fish and Parks and South Dakota State Library for making this pass program available to public libraries across the state!

Join the HCL for a Teen & Adult Zoo Talk about Wildlife Conservation! Sioux Falls Zoo & Aquarium’s Zoo Talk program provides an opportunity to talk with zookeepers and wildlife experts.
