Harrisburg Community Library

Harrisburg Community Library Harrisburg Community Library is dedicated to helping promote literacy and continuing education to all the people we serve in our area.

The Harrisburg Community Library is a welcoming environment that connects the community to enriching informational, educational, recreational, and entertainment resources. We have a wide array of items (books, dvds, BluRay discs, E-readers, and audiobooks) that can be checked out at no cost to community members. This page is to help everyone find out about activities, new books that are arriving, community events, hour changes, and other miscellaneous information about the local library.

Representatives from small and rural South Dakota libraries were invited to attend an Institute of Museum and Library Services conference in Reno as a part of America's 250. It was an incredible opportunity to learn from other librarians across the country, and Cheyenne is coming back to the library with new ideas on how to "Tell Our Story" as a community!

Fun Fact Friday 🥳

Did you know that the Harrisburg Community Library is a recognized CREW Climate Resilience Hub? Climate Resilience Hubs are community institutions — libraries, churches, schools, nonprofits, local businesses and others — that help educate residents about extreme weather preparedness and other impacts of climate change.

Climate Resilience Hubs prepare residents before emergencies strike, so that residents are equipped and know what to do.

Learn more about CREW and Climate Resilience Hubs at https://www.climatecrew.org/resilience_hubs.
