Thank you to The Belong Collective for hosting a personal items drive in support of LHM Foundation’s Horizons transitional housing program throughout the month of May!

We are extremely grateful for the generous contributions of paper towels, toilet paper, and laundry detergent. These items will help us provide essential support to our program participants.

Good food, good company, and the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on a beautiful evening – join us for LHM Foundation’s first annual benefit dinner on Saturday, September 12, 2026, at The Country Club of Harrisburg! We are honored to share that Pritchett of abc27 News will serve as emcee for this event.

Building community… through burgers! Last Thursday was National Hamburger Day and we couldn’t resist celebrating at a cookout with participants in our Horizons transitional housing program participants! 🍔 Our dining staff planned a fun meal featuring not only an homage to the classic patty on a bun, but also hotdogs, watermelon and other summer favorites.

In the Horizons program, participants are working hard to build brighter futures, finding opportunities for joy and connection along the way. It’s the community that makes our campus feel like home. For more information, visit www.lhm-foundation.org.

Access to healthcare is particularly challenging for those experiencing homelessness. Thanks to the generous support of UPMC and its Life Changing Medicine team, LHM Foundation now has a fully outfitted telehealth room!

UPMC Pinnacle Foundation, UPMC Veteran Care Services, and UPMC Telemedicine collaborated to provide a computer, monitor, we**am, and all associated telemedicine equipment (scale, blood pressure monitor, etc.) so that participants in the Horizons transitional housing program can prioritize their physical and mental health through virtual appointments with providers of their choice.

Thank you to the entire UPMC team! LHM Foundation is grateful for your investment in the wellbeing of Horizons program participants!

Today, we remember those who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our country. Memorial Day is a time to honor their courage, reflect on the freedoms we hold, and recognize the cost at which they came. We remember not only their service, but their lives, their loved ones, and the legacies they leave behind.

☀️ Light Up Horizons! ☀️

As spring turns to summer, generous donors have lit up 31 windows for LHM Foundation’s Horizons transitional housing program! Each window represents a community member, business, or organization who has invested in the individuals and families building brighter futures in the Horizons program.

Thank you to all who have sponsored a room! As the Horizons program grows, we continue to seek sponsors who believe in the possibility of brighter days ahead for those facing homelessness. Room sponsorships are available at the individual support ($10,000) and family support ($25,000) levels. Visit our website or send us a message for more information.

🌟 Volunteer Spotlight: Meet Jacki Ellenberger! 🌟

After 35 years in state government, retirement has given Jacki more time to travel, spend time with her daughter and teenage granddaughter, and continue the volunteer work that has been central to her life for nearly 20 years.

Jacki’s volunteer service began by serving meals to individuals experiencing homelessness through her church and later expanded into disaster recovery efforts across the country. "Helping others and seeing the smiles on their faces is what it’s all about,” she says. When volunteering with dinner service at LHM Foundation as a member of our Beam Teams, Jacki finds joy not only in the mission, but in the people. Most of all, she’s inspired by watching those who have faced difficult circumstances begin to rebuild their futures.

When she’s not on a travel adventure, you can find Jacki cheering on Penn State football, enjoying live music and comedy, and advocating for and helping others.
