You may drive by regularly but not even realize it. Peiffer Auto Repair has been a fixture in this little part of town for decades. The owner, “Big” Troy Peiffer, passed away last week at the age of 62. His son, Troy Jr, who has operated the business for some years now, posted this obituary. Please send supportive thoughts to the extended Peiffer family during this difficult time.

Friendly neighborhood reminder to residents and homeowners that it's time to clean up the leaves along the front of your homes and sidewalk areas. 🍂🍁🍂🍁🍂

Helpful information from Harrisburg city:
As an important measure, yard waste, which includes but is not limited too: leaves, grass/bush clippings, tree branches, etc. must be disposed of according to new EPA standards.
1) Do not place with your trash.
2) A separate truck will pickup yard waste at the FRONT OF YOUR PROPERTY ON STREET CLEANING DAYS.
3) Please collect yard waste into compost bags. Please tie branches no more than 4 feet long in a bundle.
4) There are compost paper bags provided by the City FREE OF CHARGE at the 1820 Paxton Street Public Works location. For more information, call 311.

We had a very productive cleanup today. We focused heavily on 3rd Street, 2nd, and Maclay and followed up on Penn, Green, Susquehanna and connecting side streets. Thank you Kent and Mike for your help! Thank you Lauren for helping at the table. Also, thank you to Denise for the help as always last weekend. The next cleanup will be Saturday, October 8. Hope to see you then!

It's a warm day, but we are doing the cleanup! Tent across from Little Amps on Green street. Stop by, grab some water, gloves and a trash bag and meet up with us! We are focusing on Susquehanna Street today. Not to late to join! 10 till noon.
