W**e Education and Appreciation Our membership ranges from the novice level to self-styled connoisseurs and all are welcome!

We conduct a minimum of 12 in-person events in a normal year and multiple monthly virtual events, all ranging from more social and casual gatherings to structured, formal w**e tastings that sample w**es from the world over. Topics are presented by knowledgeable and engaging presenters, including w**e educators, w**emakers, and a myriad of qualified speakers. 🍇 A little Saturday field trip for the Pennsylvania W**e Society!

A few PWS members made a quick trip south to antietamcreekvineyards in Maryland today for some w**e, vineyard time, and a firsthand look at what’s happening in the vines.

We had the opportunity to walk the vineyard with the owner, taste grapes right from the vine, and learn more about this year’s growing season. Unfortunately, the vineyard was hit hard by a late spring freeze, a tough reminder of just how much Mother Nature gets a vote in every vintage.

Despite the challenges in the vineyard, there were still plenty of tasty w**es to enjoy! 🍷

Thanks to Antietam Creek Vineyards for the warm welcome, the tour, and a great afternoon. There’s nothing quite like getting out among the vines and hearing the story behind what eventually ends up in the glass.

What a night! 🇮🇹🍷

Thank you to everyone who joined the Pennsylvania W**e Society on Friday for Italianity: The Culture of Italian W**e!

From the mountains of Alto Adige to the volcanic slopes of Sicily, we explored Italy through eight incredible w**es, delicious food, and plenty of history and storytelling.

A very special thank you to Jessica Dupuy for joining us virtually and making the evening such a memorable one. Jessica’s combination of w**e knowledge, Italian history, personal stories, and approachable teaching brought each region and each glass to life. We learned a lot, laughed a lot, ate very well, and certainly didn’t leave thirsty!

And, of course, attendees went home with a signed copy of Jessica’s Italianity to keep the journey going.

Jessica is also one of the hosts of Another Bottle Down, which happens to be my favorite w**e podcast. Her recent episode exploring Italianity, the book she co-authored with Master of W**e Andrea Lonardi, helped inspire the selections for this special tasting.

We’ll explore Italy through eight w**es from Sicily to Alto Adige, Piedmont and Tuscany, paired with an Italian-inspired menu.

Jessica’s work has appeared in W**e Enthusiast, Forbes, Texas Monthly, GuildSomm, Imbibe, and Southern Living, among many others. She has an extraordinary talent for connecting what’s in your glass to the people, history, and sense of place behind it.
