Pasa Sustainable Agriculture Cultivating environmentally sound, economically viable, and community-focused farms and food systems.

We’re a Pennsylvania-based sustainable agriculture association founded in 1992 with members in every state, primarily working in the US Mid-Atlantic and Northeast. We work to cultivate environmentally sound, economically viable, and community-focused farms and food systems through education, research, policy, and marketing initiatives. We coordinate year-round workshops and events, administer formal farming apprenticeships, and facilitate research that empowers farmers with data they value. We also work to foster productive connections between farmers, community members, local businesses, policymakers, and other stakeholders. Our annual Sustainable Agriculture Conference draws people from all sectors of the food system for intensive learning on a wide range of food and farming topics.

North Carolina! We’ve got an open position and we want you! 📣🌱🥦

Pasa Sustainable Agriculture is seeking one Technical Assistance Provider (TAP) with residence within one hour of Asheville, NC, to join our primarily remote team dedicated to growing the future of sustainable agriculture.

The TAP supports farmers in implementing conservation practices to grow their business and farm ecosystems! The provider guides farmers through a tailored enrollment process, helps them access services, and supports practice installation. They can also support market development, training and education, research support, and more!

While based in NC, this position requires regular travel to farm site visits, in-person work days, staff retreats, our yearly conference, and other professional development opportunities.

If you have great interpersonal skills, experience in environmental science or agriculture, familiarity with digital data collection, and a commitment to antioppression work, consider applying! Applications close on October 20.

PA urban growers—need funding for your operation? We’ve got info to share! 🌶️🌱🪱

Good news! If you missed our webinar yesterday about the Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture’s Urban Agriculture Infrastructure Grant, we have a recording ready for you to watch and take notes.

In this webinar, Dr. Jamie Green, Eastern Region Director and Special Advisor at the PDA, shared about project eligibility, priority areas, and allowable expenses for the Urban Ag Infrastructure Grant. Applications for this program are due on Friday, October 16, 2026.

Towards the end of the webinar, we also shared about Pasa Sustainable Agriculture’s Business Development Support Grant, designed to help farmers market their products, reach new customers, and expand their business! Farmers from Maine to South Carolina are eligible for this grant, and applications are due on December 31, 2026.

Urban growers! Join us for a half-day skills-based intensive in Philadelphia to build your financial toolkit! 🥕🌿📈🏙️

During this event, we’ll discuss developing a business plan, reviewing key financial statements, and interpreting financial performance.
