Re-Up Your National TIM Training Certificate on RSLN

You asked for it and now the Responder Safety Learning Network allows registered users to refresh their Multi-Program Certificates, including the National TIM Training Certificate.

Stay compliant with yearly training requirements by updating your Certificate of Completion date. Here’s how it works:

• Retake only the modules you haven’t passed within the past year
• Once completed, your certificate, transcript, and module records will reflect both your new and previous pass dates

It’s a simple way to keep your training current and your credentials up to date.

The Fire Department Safety Officers Association is collaborating with ERSI to promote roadway incident safety initiatives and the TIM Technical Specialist Certification. We all need to ramp up our collective efforts to protect responders and victims at incident scenes while warning about incident scenes and guiding motorists safely around those incidents.

🚨𝐑𝐨𝐚𝐝𝐰𝐚𝐲 𝐒𝐚𝐟𝐞𝐭𝐲 𝐑𝐞𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐫 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐅𝐢𝐫𝐞𝐟𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐬🚨
Firefighters train for low-frequency / high-risk events — but one of the most dangerous incidents we face happens every day:
Roadway responses.

Vehicle crashes on high-speed roadways create a 𝐡𝐢𝐠𝐡-𝐟𝐫𝐞𝐪𝐮𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐲 / 𝐡𝐢𝐠𝐡-𝐫𝐢𝐬𝐤 𝐞𝐧𝐯𝐢𝐫𝐨𝐧𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 for firefighters, EMS, and law enforcement. Responders are struck, injured, and killed every year while protecting others.

𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐅𝐃𝐒𝐎𝐀 𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐨𝐧𝐠𝐥𝐲 𝐫𝐞𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐬 𝐚 𝐂𝐡𝐢𝐞𝐟 𝐎𝐟𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐞𝐫 𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐩𝐨𝐧𝐝 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐨𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐜𝐫𝐞𝐰𝐬 𝐝𝐮𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐡𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐰𝐚𝐲 𝐢𝐧𝐜𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬. A strong command presence helps improve safety, coordination, and scene management.

𝐖𝐡𝐲 𝐚 𝐂𝐡𝐢𝐞𝐟 𝐎𝐟𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐞𝐫 𝐨𝐧 𝐬𝐜𝐞𝐧𝐞 𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐬:
• Crew Protection – Focused leadership prioritizes responder safety.
• Traffic Coordination – Direct coordination with law enforcement to slow or stop traffic.
• Reduced Crossover Risk – Managing speeds in opposing lanes reduces vehicles entering the scene.
• Improved Patient Care – Crews can focus fully on extrication and patient care.

𝐊𝐞𝐲 𝐒𝐚𝐟𝐞𝐭𝐲 𝐏𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐞𝐬
• Proper apparatus positioning
• High-visibility PPE
• Early traffic control with cones, and warning devices
Roadway incidents require training, discipline, and strong command presence.

• Easy bulk submission
• Streamlined enrollment
• No cost to participate

Full details and step-by-step instructions on how to format and upload your spreadsheet are available.
