📢 The Power of Trans Pennsylvanians: Get Out and Vote! 🗳️

This election season, it’s crucial for trans voices in Pennsylvania to be heard. Thanks to advocacy by the Pennsylvania Commission on LGBTQ Affairs and Ciora Thomas of SisTers PGH, trans Pennsylvanians can now choose a non-binary or X gender marker when registering to vote—an incredible milestone in our fight for inclusion.

Under the Biden administration, we’ve seen positive steps like expanding Title IX protections for transgender students, ensuring gender-affirming healthcare access in federal prisons, and allowing military service for transgender individuals. These policies are key to affirming our rights and humanity, yet they’re also at risk.

Donald Trump has openly pledged to reverse these protections, framing transgender identity as something to be erased rather than respected. This ongoing rhetoric seeks to dehumanize trans people, stripping away hard-won rights. As trans people and allies, we cannot allow this regressive vision to become reality.

It’s time for us to come together, protect our progress, and continue advocating for leaders who see our full humanity. Let’s use our collective power to support candidates who uphold equality and who will champion our rights—not dismantle them. Together, let’s shape a future that includes and respects us all.

Let’s get out there, make our voices heard, and ensure our community’s future remains strong.

This - ✊🏽 Now it’s time to pass SB 614 amending current laws adding Gender identity , gender expression and sexual orientation to the current laws protecting All Pennsylvanians from discrimination in all areas of their daily lives.

The current laws aren’t specific enough and the term “sex” is left up to interpretations but by amending the “Pa human relations act of 1955” we are able to protect All Pennsylvanians.

Thanks to the Governor Tom Wolf for creating policies for PA government workers but now is the time to protect everyone.

Let’s encourage law makers to move on Statewide no discrimination protections

Five years ago, I implemented non-discrimination protections for LGBTQ commonwealth employees.

These employment protections still do not exist statewide. Instead, GOP state legislators are spending their time trying to roll back rights for young trans students.

Tell your legislators: We want MORE protections for LGBTQ Pennsylvanians. Pass legislation that protects LGBTQ people from discrimination in employment, housing, and within public spaces: on.pa.gov/FindMyLegislator.
