New this year we are implementing a Goal Arc for our U5 - U8 Recreational games. The Goal Arc is immediately in front of the goal. Neither the offensive or defensive player may touch the ball inside the Goal Arc. If the offensive team touches the ball inside the arc it is a goal kick for the defending team. If the defensive team touches the ball inside the arc it is a goal for the attacking team. For the U5 age group there will not be a goal awarded if the defensive team touches the ball inside the arc but a warning given.

Why are we doing this? We are doing this to prevent "pseudo-goalkeepers" on the defending team who sit in front of the goal while also teaching the offensive player to shoot the ball instead of dribbling it into the arc. This will provide experience to our younger players as they progress to the more complicated game at the older ages.
