AAUW Harrisburg Branch was well represented at the 2026 Atlantic Regional Conference in Lancaster this past weekend. Engaging speakers included prominent medical doctors, PHDs, CEOs, and attorneys (only one man among the cohort), each one addressing diversity, equity, and inclusion for ALL women as we fight the "Unfinished Revolution." Branch members MaryAnn D., Kathy S., Chris Z., Carol N., Kathy S., Erica M., Marge G., Carol S., Lee J., and Cindy D. also enjoyed the cultural diversity of Lancaster as evident in dining options and storefronts.

On Saturday, AAUW Harrisburg hosted their fall luncheon at the Colonial Golf & Tennis Club. Janet Donovan, President & CEO of the Girl Scouts in the Heart of PA was the speaker. The program included a gift presentation to member Cindy D, playwright of Quill-adelphia and the recipients of the funds gathered at the showing in July 2026. There was a presentation to the recipient of the Scholarship Award and an update from Michelle E, President of the LWV. It was a wonderful program.

AAUW Carlisle is hosting a film night showcasing the groundbreaking acts of Lilly Ledbetter. This inspiring story tells about a woman who fought for justice and equal pay for all. This is free and will be shown on Wednesday, September 30th at 6 pm. Registration is required.

Join AAUW Carlisle and AAUW Dickinson for a film night showcasing the groundbreaking acts of Lilly Ledbetter. The biographical drama will be FREE and shown on Wed., Sept. 30 at 6 pm.
Lilly Ledbetter took on the Goodyear Corporation after discovering she was paid a fraction of her male colleagues' salaries. Her legal battle culminated in the historic 2009 Lilly Ledbetter Fair Pay Act, the first Act signed into law by President Barack Obama.

August 26th is Women’s Equality Day, commemorating the certification of the 19th Amendment in 1920 and the expansion of women’s voting rights in the United States.

More than a century later, the work for equality continues.

This Women’s Equality Day, the Zonta Club of Harrisburg-Hershey joins Zonta USA and Zonta clubs across the country in encouraging action in support of the Equal Rights Amendment (ERA), which would explicitly guarantee equal rights under the U.S. Constitution regardless of s*x.

There is urgency to act now. The ERA has been ratified by the required 38 states, but Congress must still act to affirm its recognition as the 28th Amendment. With the 119th Congress ending January 3, 2027, only 130 days remain for Congress to act.

You can show your support by signing the ERA petition and adding your voice to the call for constitutional gender equality.

Our Co-President Kathy Seidl has recently been sworn in to serve on the AAUW PA Board. Congratulations Kathy!

A new term brings both excitement and change. New officers sworn in, returning board members provide continuity, and together this team will carry forward AAUW’s mission, support Pennsylvania’s 25 branches, strengthen connections across the state, and help expand our visibility and impact.

A couple of board members were missing from the photo, but they are very much part of this team.
