Winston has moved into Benny's PET DEPOT, where he’ll show off his beautiful medium-length coat until he is adopted. You may recognize this black-and-white boy from a post a few weeks ago. Winston was found along the Carlisle Pike and needed emergency surgery. (Thank you to all who made donations in support of his care.) Now Winston is looking for a home where he can eat special wet food (He loves wet food!) to prevent future issues.

Our need for kitten food is never-ending, and our supply dwindling. 😿 Are you able to donate to help HART kittens? Our top need is Fancy Feast Pate kitten paté (wet food), but we can use any brand of kitten wet food. Many of our fosters use Purina Kitten Chow for dry food, but other brands are welcome, too. We also need 7- or 8-inch paper plates on which to serve this food. THANK YOU for your generosity and for helping us save lives.

If you would like to donate, HART dropoff locations are at Abrams & Weakley - General Store for Animals in Harrisburg or Benny's PET DEPOT in Mechanicsburg (where you can also purchase kitten food and support a local business while you support HART kittens).

Victor moved into Pet Supplies Plus on Monday, and now that he’s had a few days to adjust, he is Mr. Cuddle Machine with his caretaker. Victor is an in-your-face friendly boy who greeted his foster mom each morning with kisses and head butts. His brother was adopted this week, and Victor can’t wait to find his own family. Go see and fall in love with Victor at the store in Lemoyne, Pa.

Belated congratulations to Tessa on her adoption. She’s the last of her three-kitten litter to find her home. We wish all their families the best forevers. ❤️❤️❤️

Tessa was the shyest of her trio, and she’d like to remind potential adopters of the 3-3-3 rule for new pets. In short, it takes AT LEAST 3️⃣ days to decompress, 3️⃣ weeks to settle in and 3️⃣ months to feel fully at home. Of course, not every cat adheres strictly to this framework. Some seem to blow through all the steps in four days. More likely, some may take a little more time. The key is moving slowly and providing patience and love.

After nearly a year in foster care, we are thrilled that Hugo was adopted! 🎉 Happy life, sir!

If you’re looking for your own tuxedo, Sweet Pea has been waiting a LONG time, too. She is ✨FULLY SPONSORED.✨ Her future family will need to fill out the adoption application, go through the vetting process and be approved — so we can ensure that she goes to a safe and loving home — but the right adopter will not need to pay adoption fees. Sweet Pea would like to be the queen of her future castle, as she is still timid with the other animals in her longtime foster home. 👑 This black-and-white lady purrs constantly and wants a lot of attention. She loves lying in bed or on the couch (where she enjoys observing her subjects) and being petted.
