🎣 I WANT TO SHARE SOMETHING PRETTY SPECIAL HAPPENING RIGHT HERE IN OUR COMMUNITY.
Over the past several weeks, I’ve had the opportunity to help with a new women’s outdoor group called Lone Star Lady Anglers, and I’ve been genuinely impressed by what I’ve seen.
What started as an idea to bring women together through fishing has quickly grown into something much bigger.
These ladies are creating a place where women can come together to learn, fish, hunt, enjoy the outdoors, build confidence, make friendships, and help one another—whether they’ve been fishing their entire lives or are just learning how to tie their first knot.
I had the privilege of helping with the fishing clinic at their first monthly meetup, and seeing women learning, asking questions, helping each other, laughing, and enjoying being outdoors together showed me just how much something like this was needed in our area.
And they’re just getting started.
Lone Star Lady Anglers is working to offer:
🎣 Fishing clinics & meetups
🦀 Crabbing & other outdoor adventures
🦌 Hunting opportunities
🏕️ Camping & outdoor activities
🤝 Volunteer opportunities
💗 A community where women can learn from and encourage one another
Their motto says it best:
“Empowered Women Empower Women.”
As someone involved with Lake Houston Sports & Recreation Foundation, I’m proud to support organizations and people who are getting our community outdoors, teaching new skills, and creating opportunities for others.
If you have a wife, girlfriend, daughter, sister, mom, friend—or any woman in your life who loves the outdoors OR has always wanted to learn—I encourage you to share Lone Star Lady Anglers with her.
You do NOT have to be an experienced angler to belong.
Sometimes all it takes is having the right group of people willing to say, “Come on, we’ll show you.”
I have a feeling this group is only getting started. 🎣💗
