You have to love our city! Despite the pending weather and the cancelation of all outdoor activities, several of our local folks still want to celebrate our community!

The Harrington Public Library will have several kids events happening indoors! Check out their page to see what's happening!

The Greater Harrington Historical Society will be open from 10 am to 2pm. Get your special 250th t-shirt!

Trinity United Methodist Church will be open for Chicken Salad sales, their patriotic display and I bet if you ask nice, they will cook up some scrapple!

And several of our local shops will still be open and a few have special deals!

So don't let the rain stop you from enjoying the city!

It is with a great deal of sadness that the City of Harrington announces the cancelation of the 48th Annual Harrington Heritage Day, scheduled for Aug 22, 2026. With the forecast of severe thunderstorms and locally heavy rains, the city must consider everyone's safety as our top priority.

However the library still plans on having some inside fun for the kids so check them out!!!!

With so many other events in our area over the next several weeks, a rain date is not possible.

For our vendors, we have options as far as the money paid for your space. Please contact us at [email protected]

Did we mention the Harrington Public Library! They will be open Heritage Day for you to visit and learn all about the programs and services they offer to the Harrington community.
The Kids Zone will be located here this year! So make sure you stop out and visit!
Don't forget the free shuttle service to downtown! Makes parking a breeze!

Our First Responders are a true blessing to Harrington. Stop by the Harrington Fire Company to learn about the ways they serve, and how you can help! The Harrington Fire Company, Inc. is located at 20 Clark St, just a short stroll away from all the action downtown. This is how the company looked at the turn of the 20th century.

Don't let Harrington Heritage Day tire out your feet! And parking, we got that covered too!

Parking is can be found at the Harrington Public Library and at Lake Forest South Elementary. Look for the Free Shuttle signs and enjoy your ride to downtown in air condition comfort! The shuttle will run from 8am till approximately 5pm, stopping earlier if warranted. Their will be limited handicapped parking at the Price Community Center, first come, first serve.

Other parking areas can be found at Asbury Church on Weiner Ave and Harrington Fire Company, Inc.. The shuttle does not stop at either of these locations.

One again, we are pleased to have Southbound performing at Harrington Heritage Day! The group plays a mix of Classic Country & Classic Rock. he performance will be on Aug 22, 2026, starting at 12pm inside the Harrington Senior Center. Be sure to grab a bite to eat from the Senior Center Food stand then sit back in the air conditioning and enjoy some great music!.

We have a very special musical event planned for this years Harrington Heritage Day! Ampersand, a colonial musical group will be performing a special patriotic themed musical tribute, celebrating America 250 and of course, Delaware 250!. The event will be held on Saturday, Aug 22, 2026, starting at 11am. Their performance will be held in the former St Stephen's church, now a museum and also celebrating the buildings 150 year anniversary!

Ready for some music! This year Heritage Day is excited to present Catch the Drift! This local band is an active local cover band based in southern Delaware that performs rock, pop, blues, and country music. Tribute playing hits from the 1960s to today with a unique twist.
