The fire may be out, but there was still work to be done. 🚒😅

Massive shoutout to our crew! Running on little sleep and a lot of determination (caffiene), we got the gear cleaned, bottles refilled, the truck back in service, and tackled what felt like miles and miles (and miles 😅) of hose.

Todays fire danger report is HIGH

Please help us keep our community safe:
• No outdoor burning
• Avoid using equipment that can spark
• Properly dispose of ci******es
• Keep trailers and vehicles from dragging chains

🚦 Public Service Announcement 🚦

Those temporary traffic lights in the construction zone aren’t playing a game of “catch me if you can.”

While on a call today, we watched several drivers reach very unsafe speeds trying to beat the yellow light and a few who decided red was just a really enthusiastic shade of green.

We get it. Waiting is frustrating, and construction is annoying. But shaving 30 seconds off your drive isn’t worth wrecking your vehicle, hurting someone, or turning a minor delay into an emergency that requires our response.

Do us all a favor: if the light turns yellow, slow down. If it’s red, stop. The light will change, we promise.

Let’s all do our part to keep the construction workers, emergency responders, and everyone else traveling through town safe. Patience costs a lot less than an accident.

Good Morning. A Marginal Risk (Level 1 of 5) for severe weather exists primarily from Noon to 5PM across the Moosehead Lake region stretching south through Bangor Region and much of the Downeast, with strong, gusty winds being the primary hazard. Further north, areas including Caribou, Madawaska, Houlton, and Millinocket will experience patchy wildfire smoke through late Thursday afternoon. This smoke is a result of new wildfire development on the southeast side of Hudson Bay in the last 24-48hrs. This smoke will be less dense than it was on Tuesday and might limit thunderstorm development today especially in those northern regions. Looking ahead to the weekend, residents across the region can expect cooler temperatures accompanied by additional showers and a few storms. Latest forecast: www.weather.gov/car
