John 10:10 The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.

There are times when I read God’s word and well I see life. I see how God proposed two things in the same verse as if to say ‘now choose which you will keep.’ Now I’m not saying it as if to add to God’s word but to ask of myself and of yourself to see God’s hope for you and I by giving us a clear choice.

The world has come as a thief to steal, to kill and to destroy.

Where as

Jesus was sent that you may have life and that you may have that life more abundantly.

I’d tell you putting it this way makes it an easy choice in my opinion, but only in my opinion. After all who wants to live a life where people steal, kill or destroy, yet sadly people either choose that out of indifference or out of ignorance. One is slow and compassionless, the other is a matter of being presented with the knowledge of the Gospel of Jesus the Christ.

IN this world we live in, no matter this current day and age, there is the ugliness of “christianity,” that which is promoted by evil desire to undermine. Where the world will say “See if Christianity worked then why are there so many denominations, so much arguing, etc.” What the world won’t show we, the Church, need to be all the more promoting, not self promoting like how many people we can get into a venue, but promoting the things of Christ of Faith, Hope and Love on the streets, roads, shopping center, gas stations and ballparks just to name a few. Oh and y’all, it’s okay if you fail because that is a good time to ask for forgiveness. It lets those seeking something (God) that its okay that your not perfect, that God forgives because He loves so much.

There are things that the church should promote, not good works but the works of Faith. That because you have a life more abundant that you share more abundant. Hang on it is not about wealth it is about joy in the Lord. Isn’t that after all where your abundant life begins and resides, in Christ.

Church is not a social experiment, leave your “ist,” at the door, better yet at the altar. Come before the Lord as a small child, full of hope, full of compassion, full of love, ready to learn and grow in faith. Arise oh sleeper arise. Hope to see you at 11 am at Caney Ford or the fellowship you belong to.

2 Timothy 3:13 But evil men and impostors will grow worse and worse, deceiving and being deceived.

It sadden’s me that Christian fall away every day due to pride. The pride of ones who oppose God at His Word. That through false representation leads themselves and others away from the saving knowledge of Christ Jesus who is to be our Lord. Not buddy, not pal, not goly gee do I have ta, or any other passive aggressive display of wanton aggression towards His fellowship. If you are convinced you know better than God then fine make your way, but don’t place a false narrative before others with vexed words and dismissal of what is good and profitable.

In looking at the history of “The Church,” you see patterns of splits, misrepresentations, narratives marbled together in culture shifts and truths, and so on. It seems “Judizors,” are still amongst us. That when reform comes it has been in the form of doxology of we want to do it this way and will massage scripture to say what justifies our cultural objective(s). That is not the "sufficiency of His Word.” that is being an imposter.

I watched a video the other day of 5 verses that made one loose their faith. In each the presenter miss quoted, miss applied, and misconstrued each verse both in meaning then in application. Finding a narrative that they didn’t like to justify what they did like. One would think that God’s word is about being intolerant in the face of salvation. When that is a miss representation of scripture all together.

None have answered, why should a God who is holy allow my sin into heaven. Why even I if I am going somewhere I try to dress respectfully of the place I am going, as well as to act appropriately towards the people there. It is an act not of worship but of respect. I know we, or so at times it seems, we don’t respect each other that we flaunt our differences as “I Dar Ya,” and if we are not welcome then the offended is out offended by the disrespectful fake hurt to try to invoke a visceral response of guilt by the disrespected. God doesn’t work that way, God says “Depart from Me you workers of iniquity, I knew you not.”

Shedding light on your “ism,” (sexism, feminism, maleism, raceism, biases-ism) and seeing how they are cultural not scripture is wanton sin you have allowed in your life. It is following the culture as you god not scripture as is His Word towards and of God.

Evil men are not just masculine, but it is as much feminine as it is of man.

John 14:14 If you ask anything in My name, I will do it.

Oh boy this is cool. Just ask for stuff in Christ’s name and He will “do it.” That’s great, oh hang on, doesn’t verse 13 say the same thing with that God the Father may be glorified, so shouldn’t I take that into account in my asking? Yes, Yes, we should.

Who is God that He may be glorified in your, in our asking. Are our wants really that important that God would be glorified by a new truck or car, bigger this or that, latest or greatest thing, is God really glorified by the size of your bank account? No, no He’s not.

Is God glorified when He calls a saint home or keeps them here for our comfort? Woe now let’s not get personal. Dear one if our “asking,” is not personal then what is?

Christ today is next to God the Father, that is the Son is seated next to Abba Father. Why even when I type this today I feel their Spirit looking into my thoughts as I type to you. No, He’s not spell checking, no, He’s not grammar checking, He’s double checking my heart as we go along that He may be glorified.

There is not “trick,” to prayer. There is no AH HA moment if I add this or that, pronounced in Greek, Hebrew, Latin, Aramaic, or English equations of some mystical spell conjured up to get a desirable outcome of prayer. What there is is a promise. That He who is seated next to Him who is enthroned will hear your prayer and give, show, answer your petition with grace and understanding.

Look ya’ll if our want’s are not God glorifying then why would we have the expectation of having them answered when we ask. We must take care of the “what,” we ask as well as of the “how,” we ask. It is important. People will puff themselves with mighty words in their supplications and yet they have received their reward. When we ask “Our Father,” it must be with the understanding that it is His will to be done. This doesn't mean God won’t grant you of your wants, but when He does we should, we must glorify Him in them.

Prayer is a funny thing, it is not repetitions words but it is continuing in prayer, it is not putting on a show but it is meaningful, it is not grandstanding of a mini-sermon to others who are listening but a prayer before the Lord can move people.

Pray your prayer, Lift up the name of Jesus, exalt the Father, petition thru the the Holy Spirit, ask and it will be given, knock and the door may be open, you don’t have because you don’t ask.

Exodus 20:5 you shall not bow down to them nor serve them. For I, the Lord your God, am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children to the third and fourth generations of those who hate Me,

Our God is Jealous for us, not of us. Why shouldn’t He be, its not an after all He made and created us in His image and likeness, its not that all of that which is around you and before you He created, it is not a “we owe Him something,” It is, He loved you before you were in your mother’s womb kind of thing.

As hard as it is to try to understand who God is and what He is about we only have to think that He is greater than we are and since some of His attributes, as being our Father, He has passed on to us we have only to, at times, look at ourselves.

We get jealous if our spouse talks and laughs with someone of the opposite sex…
We get jealous when people don’t recognize our efforts and do other peoples….
We get jealous if someone has something new and we don’t….
We get jealous if someone has control but we think we should……

None of these things are justifiable, and most certainly none of these things are righteous at all, no, no matter how “good,” you are, or even how right people say you are, you still have flaws, as I am flawed as well.

God is, I picture the Lord knowing me prior to me being. Knowing who I am, as at the same time knowing who I’d become(ing). He shaped(ing) me, knitted me together and placed His hope in me. Now dear one though I have said me way to often don’t read it as me-Fran but rather read it as Me-you. We are all His children and He is jealous of you.

If someone asked me what is one thing God wanted it would be that we be with Him forever. As this is the “God Void,” in our lives that all too often people fill it with gods of time, money, control, power, prestige, title, sin. You name it and you’ll find people in history who’ve worshiped it. We should know better, yet we also need to be reminded of it.

God isn’t jealous of who you become, We need to stop thinking we’ve done it ourselves
