Good morning! A member of Harrah reached out to me today letting me know there is a food pantry at the Baptist Church on 59th and Harrah-Newalla Rd. If anyone is need of food, this sounds like a good resource. If anyone on the page has more detailed information, please feel free to share. Or if anyone knows of any other resources.

Happy Saturday! With all of the social distancing that is going on there maybe questions rather or not this donation is still going on. It absolutely is. 💙 If you feel so inclined to donate - anything will help us get to the large goal we have of over $3500 to get the water back on. We’ve had so many people offer their time to volunteer to clean up, and work on the washers and dryers - THANK YOU!!!

💙💙💙Lazy Daisy Donation and Volunteer Opportunity💙💙💙

Hi there!

About a week ago I saw a post about the Lazy Daisy Laundry Mat not having water, therefore several people in our community are being affected by this. People that need to do laundry, but even more so the owner.

Many have asked what we can do? So after praying about this, only to see more post created asking why the Lazy Daisy wasn’t open. I decided to call the city.

The first step: the water bill has to be paid, if you would like to donate towards it. All you have to do is write on an envelope “Donation for Lazy Daisy” and drop it in the Dropbox at City Hall or go through the drive-through.

If you donate, will you please let me know. I would LOVE to be able to show him how many people are here. I understand wanting to do it anonymously, but it would also be great to be able to see how close we are to pay off. If you want to stay anonymous, I will label those donations as “Anonymous Donation”.

Getting this paid off sooner rather than later would be amazing. I’ve spoken with the owner and he says that there are working washers and dryers, so once it’s paid off, the water will be turned back on and the Lazy Daisy will be able to be used for washing and drying.

Second step: The Lazy Daisy also needs to be cleaned up, painted, trim work possibly needed, and has washers and/ possibly dryers that need work (commercial). I will continue my list and get a date set for anyone that would like to volunteer. If you want me to put you down to volunteer - please reach out.

The owner of Lazy Daisy has done a lot for our community, as far as I can see from the comments on all of these post. I know it would fill his heart up for us to get the Lazy Daisy up and going again not for himself, but for the people in our community that need it.

You guys! We just finished dropping off gifts. By the end I was having to blink extra fast to keep the tears in.

We were able to give 4 families a Merry Christmas, which included 11 children. All of the families were nominated by a kind soul that knew the circumstances in detail, I want to keep them all private, but just know you all truly blessed them.

The parents are enjoying unwrapping the mega boxes of goodies, which included toys, at least 1 outfit per child, cookies for them to bake and decorate for Santa.

Brag post.... on YOU all! Family #1 is being boxed up now. I have a donation left to pick up and a few things to buy tomorrow, otherwise they are good to go and will be dropped off tomorrow!!! It’s a little girl heavy, because a friend of theirs picked up several items for the boys. 💙

I’m so proud of this first box and our community!

Harrah, I received my first monetary donation. Thank you so much to this anonymous donor! 💙 We will be using the donation plus some to finish up Family #2, #3 and #4. In the meantime, if you have any donations for these families, please reach out to me by Thursday, December 19th.

Fortunately these 4 families will be taken care of this Christmas, unfortunately we won’t be able to open donations up to any other families this season. Thank you for nominating families, the need is so big in our community.

Thank you all for your giving this Christmas season, I know it can be a tough time financially for all of us and the fact that y’all chose to give to families within our community at such a time - we are so thankful!

This weekend I was able to pick up a few donations from people cleaning out their gently/hardly used clothes and toys. Harrah - you’re the best! 💙 I will be going through these tonight and updating our post for our first 4 families. Thank YOU!

Christmas 2019 Family #4

9 year old girl:
Size 9/10 clothes, shoes size 1. Interest - hair products (loves to curl and straighten hair), softball and horror films.
💙 Received: pair of pjs, 2 dresses, pair of leggings, t-shirt. Thank you Shada!!

4 year old boy:
Size 6 clothes, shoes size 14. Interest - Minecraft, legos and hot wheels.

1 year old boy:
Size 2T clothes. Interest - everything (kidding, but seriously aren’t 1 year olds into everything, I’m sure he would love any toy).
